disk iotune
Hi,
reading the below[1] on blkdeviotune made me wonder if we can dynamically
change the values after the VM is already running using iotune.
Is it supported?
Thanks,
Doron

tftp replacment
Hi all,
I have a running network boot setup using opensuse 11.0.
Recently we found that in some remote segments, downloading the initrd and
vmlinuz takes a long time.
My question is, weather it's possible to replace tftp with some other protocol
such as HTTP or similar ? This may be done by the pxelinux client after it's
been loaded using the standard tftp. In this way both initrd and

Installation Worries
I have been trying to start up Icecast2 using
http://www.howtoforge.com/linux_webradio_with_icecast2_ices2 as my
docset.
The icecast server comes up; I'm able to go to http://localhost:8000/
and see the pages.
I can't seem to get the ices2 part working. I use the suggested config file:

Is there any benefit to using NetworkManager on a server with a static IP?
I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get a simple two NIC
bond to work. Got really odd behavior from service network restart, then
finally decided to disable NetworkManager. Voila! Bonding and the network
service script starts working just the way I expect.
Does anyone here actually use NetworkManager on anything but a laptop or
desktop? I can't seem to figure out a reason

Kaplan Meier analysis: 95% CI wider in R than in SAS
Hello All,
?
Am replicating in R an analysis I did earlier using SAS. See this as a test of whether I'm ready to start using R in my day-to-day work.
?
Just finished replicating a Kaplan Meier analysis. Everything seems to work out fine except for one thing. The 95% CI around my estimate for the median is substantially larger in R than in SAS. For example, in SAS I have a median of 3.29 with a

Setting up simple routing for all trafic of one host through another
Hello dear tinc users,
I've been looking for a while now for a solution in the mailing list and
maybe I'm guiltily too lazy to learn all that there is to know about
Linux routing and that's why I'm still stuck.
To get right to it: I have 2 hosts connected with tinc - one of them is
a VPS with a public address and static IP address and the other is my
desktop machine, both run

Anova - interpretation of the interaction term
Hi
So carrying on my use of analysis of variance to check for the effects
of two factors. It's made simpler by the fact that both my factors have
only two levels each, creating four unique groups.
I have a highly significant interaction term. In the context of the
experiment, this makes sense. I can visualise the data graphically, and
sure enough I can see that both factors have different

Re: [Nemo-devel] nuts status page
Adam: Thanks for putting up this page. But something is wrong. In
particular, our Powerware 9135 is a three phase UPS system with THREE 480
volt outputs. So the displayed voltage is not correct -- in fact there
should really be THREE voltages displayed, all around 480v.
Nut developers: I am copying the NUT mailing list to see if anyone can
suggest how to fix this. NUT developers, see the
