Thank you Asterisk community!
With the start of the new year, the Asterisk team wanted to send out a
brief message of thanks to all of our community members who have
participated in the the Asterisk project so far.
Getting Asterisk to where it is would not have been possible without
the support of our community, for bug reports, beta-testing,
documentation and code contributions. For Asterisk 14 alone we had

RE: [Asterisk-Announce] Asterisk 1.2.4 and Zaptel 1.2.3
Does anyone know what date this memory leak was introduced and/or how to
check source code for it?
I am running a pre-1.2 CVS head version and would like to know if the
potential problem exists.

Asterisk community services - Old Mantis instance to be shutdown on Aug 28th, 2012
On June 5, 2011, we migrated from Mantis to Jira as the issue tracker
for Asterisk [1]. We temporarily left Mantis running in read-only mode
to smooth the transition. At 15 months, temporary has turned into
semi-permanent. As a part of other infrastructure changes we are making
to the community services, we will finally shut down Mantis for good.
We will update our DNS servers on the morning of

Consolidated Signup for Community Services
We felt that it would be good to let you know about some minor changes
happening with our community services.
For quite some time, we've had a consolidated authentication server
for most of our community services. This means that you use the same
username and password for issues.asterisk.org, wiki.asterisk.org and
code.asterisk.org. ReviewBoard (reviewboard.asterisk.org) still uses

Samba Team Asks Novell to Reconsider
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

The Samba Team disapproves strongly of the actions taken

One of the fundamental differences between the proprietary

Changes to the community service maintenance notifications
You may have noticed (or maybe not) that there have been several
maintenance notifications for the asterisk.org community services this
month. We are working hard to keep up the services running smoothly,
and those notices are sent whenever we think our maintenance may
interfere with the operation of any of the services.
So far, it's been our policy that we send out a maintenance

John is, but just in case: He is the principal designer of the S

John has been very supportive and helpful throughout the development
of R. He is joining the core
