Nouveau on GeForce GTX 980M
Hi, I was wondering is it possible to can get my GeForce GTX 980M work with Nouveau. I see that the non "M" version if GTX 980 is supported ( https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/CodeNames/) but not the "M" version, how different are they? Now it uses Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe, from my understanding that's fallback using the cpu right? *lshw -C video:* *-display

Installing RHEL On Laptop.....
Not sure if this is the right place to come to, but I don't have "RHN" support.....I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I have downloaded the RHEL .ios file and burned it to DVD/CD, my laptop is primed to Boot From CD/ROM Drive, I start the installation using the semi-graphical interface, and the first few options are a breeze, then it gets to identifying the CD drive

Syslinux-6.03 getting stuck with kernel boot.
Hi every one, I am trying to load a custom kernel with Syslinux on special purpose pc. Surprisingly Syslinux-4.06 boots my kernel, initrd and finally the OS perfectly from an SD-Card. The problem arises when I use the Syslinux-6.03 where the syslinux hangs right at the beginning After I see the message 'Loading vmLinuz0 ...' I read a few posts on your forums and figured out it has to do

VTd not showing PCI device in VM
I''m having trouble actually seeing a PCI device in my VMs. I''ve resolved several of my issues using previous posts and using the VTdHowTo wiki page. I have both VT and VTd BIOS options enabled. I have pciback hiding the devices and xm can list and assign the devices to VMs. I don''t see the PCI devices in my VMs though. I have tried a windows and a Linux vm, without

Reset audio controller w/o rebooting?
As I mentioned on a thread about flash-plugin a few days ago, I'm having trouble with my sound device getting "stuck" and thereby causing problems for anything that accesses it, like video playback. Rebooting the machine "fixes" it for a while, but it's unpredictable for how long -- sometimes months go by without it recurring, sometimes it happens every couple of days.

CentOS 3 - I/O performance with Promise HW RAID
(Suggestions for other forums in which to post this question are welcome.) We have CentOS 3.6 x86_64 running on a server with dual 2.2GHz Opterons and a Promise UltraTrak RM8000 connected via an Adaptec SCSI card. We are seeing what seems to be gradual I/O performance degradation over time; it seems to be OK for up to about 90 days, but not long after that both CPUs end up continuously spending

Dell 120 GB 5400 RPM Encrypted Serial ATA Hard Drive
Hi - I've been asked to re-partition a Dell 120 GB 5400 RPM Encrypted Serial ATA Hard Drive and install CentOS 5 on the new partition. It's a Dell Lattitude E5400 laptop. Is this even possible with encrypted drives? Does CentOS 5 need special drivers? Any help would be greatly appreciated. -- Agile -- Article. VI. What RH-like on a Dell XPS 15 (9590)?
I would go with Fedora or OpenSUSE latest if you want RH like on that hardware. There is nothing that unstable about them other than losing updates and maintenance after 2 years and having to upgrade. Another choice is to run Virtualbox on the Windows that shipped with the laptop and run a CentOS 7 virtual guest. If you REALLY need RHEL (CentOS) running on the hardware I would return the XPS and

hardware issues? driver issues?
Got a bunch of servers from Penguin. Supermicro m/b's H8QG6. We put a 3tb drive in for additional workspace for the users, and some of them won't read, others will go for weeks, then spit out DRDY errors. lshw shows the controller as an ATI SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 SATA. I did notice that it shows *-storage description: SATA controller product: SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 SATA
