[LLVMdev] llvm.org robots.txt prevents crawling by Google code search?
One of the tools I use most frequently when coding is Google codesearch. Unfortunately, llvm.org's robots.txt appears to block all crawlers from indexing the llvm.org svn archive. This means that when you search for an LLVM-related symbol in code search, you get one of the many (possibly out-of-date) mirrors, rather than the up-to-date llvm.org version. This is sad. For more info, see the

glmm
Hello, I would like to fit generalized linear mixed models but I did not find the package allowing such procedure. R help under nlme package gives me "glmmPQL(MASS)" but this file does not appear in contributed packages. Thanks in advance for your answer. glm and overdispersion
Hi, I am performing glm with binomial family and my data show slight overdispersion (HF<1.5). Nevertheless, in order to take into account for this heterogeneity though weak, I use F-test rather than Chi-square (Krackow & Tkadlec, 2001). But surprisingly, outputs of this two tests are exactly similar. What is the reason and how can I scale the output by overdispersion ?? Thank you,

[OT] Witty one liners or computer related proverbs
Dear All, I need some witty computer related proverbs or one liners that some of have used in the past as footers for your emails for example. I particularly remember a PERL based transliteration joke/footer that when run in PERL produces a witty output.... This is to fix a problem internally created by an over zealous salesman at my company pinning up A4 sheets with bullSh*t sales proverbs

joining tables
Hello everyone, I know this is very basic question for you people. I'm working with mani diferent tables, but everyone has the same variables. (V1, V2, V3). The only think that I need to do is to put together this tables. In other words, creating just one big table with all the cases showed in the smaller tables. For example: tabla1<-data.frame(v1,v2,v3) tabla2<-data.frame(v1,v2,v3)

Samba 4 is half as fast as Samba 3?!
Hi, I tried upgrading from my Samba 3 setup to Samba 4.1.6 - I do not need all those AD-Features, I just need to mount the shares on two Windows 7 systems. Nothing more or less - this is the only feature I need. I use the same configuration that I used with Samba 3 (testparm says it is fine). The simple question is - why do I reach transfer rates of ~110MB/Sec with Samba 3 and only ~45 MB/Sec

Outlook/Express Crawling with Domains
I'm gonna try to give as complete a description as I can. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction, as I haven't seen anything exactly like this. I'm attempting to switch from Workgroup to Domain at work. On a couple machines I did fresh installs of XP, used the registry patch, and succesffully got logons, roaming profiles working. However, when a user attempts to open

Getting custom field data from the page through crawling
Now on to my next question.. I've got the search and indexing working well for now.. My next quest is to implement a system of creating custom fields in the index. Our site is fully dynamic. That is, every page is generated in PHP and there are enough different kinds of pages that I wouldn't want to get into the business of indexing the DB directly, so I think that using htdig to crawl

can ext3 directory entries be overwritten? -- Re: extremely slow "ls" on a cleared fatty ext3 directory on FC4/5
Hi, all, I'm a newbie to ext3 file system, but what a pity if ext3 could not shrink after containing files and subdirectories get deleted. If the ext3 directory could not shrink, then another natural question is: can the deleted directory entries be overwritten by new files/subdirs? The following is an example to detail my question: Suppose a directory named myDir hold 3 files a, b, c.

extremely slow "ls" on a cleared fatty ext3 directory on FC4/5
Hi, A stupid flat directory /tmp holding 5 millon files, the directory locates on a ext3 file system with dir_index feature turned on. The running Linux are FC4 and FC5. The files are just directly under /tmp, not in any subdirectories -- they are results of mis-operations of users. Then a 'ls' or 'find' command will take one hour to finish, a lot of other applications on

rsync takes a long time to start doing any transfers
I want to use rsync with a cloud based rsync provider to do off-site backing up of a large (1TB) dataset which consists of 32 million+ files spread out in 300 directories. So the amount of files in any one directory can be quite large (upwards of 2 million). Rsync doesn't seem to cope with this well - even doing local copies in a directory with several thousands of files takes a long time to

looks in liblapack.a not liblapack.so
I can't compile R-alpha on AMD 64. Rather than include a 1400 line script I have put it on the web http://www.stat.umn.edu/~charlie/typescript.txt way down near the bottom it fails building lapack.so gcc -shared -L/usr/local/lib64 -o lapack.so Lapack.lo -llapack -lblas -lg2c -lm -lgcc_s /usr/lib64/gcc-lib/x86_64-suse-linux/3.3.5/../../../../x86_64-suse-linux/bin/ld:
