As my sig points out, yes, it is possible. RiR is linux and icecast
stripped to the bare necessities.

As I too have seen in practice :/

Paranoid Firewalling
After reading this article:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/08/31/blocking_chinese_ip_addresses/
I got to thinking that there is really no reason for *any* traffic to
hit my servers that comes from anywhere outside North America. So I
wrote the perl script at the end of this posting to extract selected IP
ranges posted at iana.org and convert them into iptables rules blocking
any traffic

what I'd like to do
ok... topology.
486 with 10BaseT card hooking into 10/100 hub hooking into 10/100 switch hooking into cisco router combining two 128KbpsISDN lines into a consolidated 256kbps line.
listening on my desktop machine is fine, also 10baseT into the same hub as the server.
the bitrate on the mp3's is 128 (great for listening off the HD)
whats a good bitrate to encode for streaming audio?

African IP addresses list
Hi all,
I am trying to block all IP addresses from Africa due to a high rate
of fraudulent orders coming from them.
I have some found some websites that can generate a range of IP
addresses. However, you would have to enter the ranges by country. I
can use those perhaps but that would mean I would have to get the
ranges for each country one by one.
Has anyone here a list of addresses from

Remove controller name from URL > nested routes
Hi..
There are my nested routes
map.resources :continent do |continent|
continent.resources :land do |land|
land.resources :destination
end
end
By example it generates this url
http://example/continent/azie/land/japan/destination/aomori
I want
http://example/continent/azie/japan/aomori
How can i realize this...?

creating a derived variable in a data frame
Hello,
I have read through the manuals and can't seem to find an answer.
I have a categorical, character variable that has hundreds of values. I want to group the existing values of this variable into a new, derived (categorical) variable by applying conditions to the values in the data.
For example, suppose I have a data frame with variables: date, country, x, y, and z.
x,y,z are

A question on the library lme4
Hi,
I ran the following model using nlme:
model2<-lme(log(malrat1)~I(year-1982),random=~1|Continent/Country,data=wbmal10)
I'm trying to run a Poisson GlMM to avoid the above transformation but I
don't know how to specify the model using lmer in the lme4 library:
model3<-lmer((malrat1)~I(year-1982) + ??,data=wbmal10,family=poisson)
How can I introduce a random factor of the

divided scatter plots
I have a data set which contains two columns. The first column is a
list of countries, and the second column contains their political risk
ratings. I would like to create one large plot that contains 5
different sections, each with a scatter plot. To clarify, I have
divided the countries into 5 groups. For each group (continent), I
would like to have the name of the continent on the x-axis, and

Question about adding text to xYplot(Hmisc)
Hello,
I have been trying to make a graph that have error bars and text at
specific position.
I used the following code from the help file of xYplot(Hmisc) as an
example except I add a myPanel function, which is just supposed to add
letters from the alphabet at the position aligned at y = 3.
It constantly gives me error:
"Error using packet 1 argument "subscripts" is

question about spx_fft
Hi Jean-Marc and list,
Is the spx_fft function in fftwrap.c a standard fft function?
void spx_fft(void *table, spx_word16_t *in, spx_word16_t *out)
When I say standard, I mean the input "in" is 128 point short data for
example and
the output "out" is 128 short complex value which is stored in 256
short array with real and
image part. Looks like the function did some

mosaic plot with two factors and one continous variable
Hello,
my dataset is already aggregated: I have two categorical variables, say
"continent" and "country" and one non-negative metric variable "population".
Now I would like to produce a mosaic plot which uses "population" to
determine how large each area of the plot is.
In other words, I fail to find out

Suddenly getting lots of "Unable to send packet: Address Family mismatch between source/destination" but ONLY on 1 of 2 VPSs in same datacentre.
Two VPSs. Identical setups with the exception of the extension.
Same version of everything, Asterisk 14.1, Ubuntu 16.10, same firewall
rules and so on - box 2 was cloned from box 1.
Both VPSs run in the same datacentre.
Suddenly, after weeks of OK, I'm getting lots of this on ONE box only:
