I mounted a samba volume on XP. XP and Ubuntu are connected over 100Mbps ethernet (router). I am writing a 4GB file from XP to Ubuntu and the transfer is extremely slow : only around 1-1.5 MB/s. After update my PDC server from Centos 5.5 to 5.11 and then samba 3.5 to 3.6.22 all work fine, except printers: all CUPS printers shared are not visible and usable from clients.
