Compiling samba4 hangs at [1815/3978] Compiling librpc/ndr/ndr_basic.c
Hi, I have tried both RC4 and from the repository but I can't seem to get samba4 to compile. I have rebuilt the OS (Centos 6.3) from scratch and I am still having the same issue. I get: WAF_MAKE=1 ./buildtools/bin/waf build Waf: Entering directory `/opt/samba-master/bin' Selected embedded Heimdal build [ 133/3978] Generating VERSION [ 168/3978] Generating smbd/build_options.c [1815/3978]

where do kernel data types come from?
I have a script where I can freely reference struct nameidata*, struct vnode*, etc. on Snow Leopard. How does DTrace know about these data types? I understand things like #pragma D depends_on library darwin.d where darwin.d has typedefs. I can''t find definitions of nameidata and vnode in any D scripts, though. How does it work? Thanks, Joel --- firefox for android!

Can't use DNS Manager in MMC on Samba 4.12.0
On Samba 4.12.0, I receive the error "ndr_pull_uint32: ndr_pull_error(Buffer Size Error): Pull bytes 4 (../../librpc/ndr/ndr_basic.c:152) at ../../librpc/ndr/ndr_basic.c:152" when opening the DNS Manager in MMC. This jumped out at me from the log-level 10 output (I'm happy to send the full logs but would rather do that somewhere more private): /dnsserver: Found DNS zone

Can't use DNS Manager in MMC on Samba 4.12.0
We normally do this via attachments to bugzilla bugs restricted to the samba developers group. Start by filing a bug about this. Can't use DNS Manager in MMC on Samba 4.12.0
No worries Andrew. I haven't upgraded all servers yet so it's not urgent! Is there a secure place I can upload my logs for when there's time to take a look? If you can see: Privacy: Make attachment and comment private (visible only to members of the samba-devel group) then tick that, otherwise I'll have to make the bug private first and then lock the attachment and re-publish the bug.. I opened bug 14310 (https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14310). Are attachments I upload there already restricted or do I have to do that myself? Tip to compile a 32bit version of Ruby on Snow Leopard
Hi guys, I hope it''s not too off topic on a Rails forum, but I spent so much time on this I thought I should share it here - hopefully it will help other people. I had to compile a 32bit (i386) version of Ruby 1.8.7 on Snow Leopard (my app is using a 32bit only lib). So I configured the compilation as such: ./configure CFLAGS="-arch i386 -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=1" LDFLAGS="-arch

Installation of XiphQT component in Snow Leopard
Hi I installed the XiphQT component into a folder I made called "Components" inside my user "Library" folder. So far I can report it works and I have been able to play an ogg embedded audio file in a web page using QT. I was just wondering if the XiphQT component would still work if installed into the QuickTime folder in the main Library folder where component items

Re: Wine Installation issues on Snow Leopard
I am newbies and also face the same problem "Warning: No index(es) found! Have you synced your source indexes? " After read an entire thread, I can overcome the problem and think that my explanation will help the others, though this thread is already 10 months-old. In addition, the below steps to put 2 codes were not mentioned in the tutorial by David Baumgold at
