CentOS 5.1 guide for VMware Fusion
Hello all, I recently created a VM running CentOS 5.1 x86-64 for development purposes. Along the way, I found a number of fixes to various issues one can experience under VMware and decided to turn my documentation into a general guide that others might benefit from. I have not found any guides for VMware Fusion on OS X, so I figured it is a worthwhile endeavor. It is likely that most or all of

sshd 7.8p1 close connection from VMware Fusion NAT Port Forwarding
After upgrading my VMware Fusion (10.1.3) Arch Guest to the latest with OpenSSH upgraded from 7.7p1 to 7.8p1, found that ssh from macOS Sierra (10.12.6) host to Arch guest via local NAT port forwarding failed, but via Arch LAN IP worked, downgraded OpenSSH from 7.8p1 to 7.7p1 fixed the problem. Any idea about this bug? VMware Fusion NAT Port Forwarding setup: VMware Fusion ? NAT Port Forwarding

vmware fusion display auto-size problem
Greetings. I am running vmware fusion 4.1.1 on a OSX host. Centos6.2 is a guest. The box is a macbook laptop running leopard. Before upgrading to 6.2, the display auto-resize (or auto-fill) was working fine. After 6.2, it has stopped working. Centos is fully updated to 6.2. I have tried to install the vmware drivers from the repository (via yum), and yum reports I have the latest.

Networking issues with OpenSolaris/Dom0 or VMware Fusion
Hi: I got OpenSolaris 2008.05 running as dom0 under VmWare fusion on my MacBook pro. Using the instructions from Dipleep''s blog http://blogs.sun.com/dkumar/entry/how_to_create_domu_in Everything seems okay except the networking. When booting OpenSolaris (without dom0) the pcn0 interface works just fine but when booting Solaris xVM version them pcn0 does not work (ie) I get failures

Problem with "ldapsam:trusted = yes"
Hi, I updated from 3.0.11 to 3.0.12 and tried the new ldapsam:trusted parameter. Alas smbd dies silently a second after startup. With debug level 2 I can't see any reason in the logfile. My smb.conf is (relevant part I hope): ================================= [global] workgroup = BBS_XXX netbios aliases = fileserver revreselif passdb backend = ldapsam:ldap://localhost

Réf. : Re: SAMBA Groups and Permissions
I confirm that Malte M?ller says. If you want to set multiple group acces, you must use ACL. the valid user parameter in smb.conf force the right of directory but the unix right is only for group user. ----------------------------------- St?phane PURNELLE stephane.purnelle@corman.be Service Informatique Corman S.A. Low-memory Centos5?
Good morning, I've inherited an old laptop from my wife that I'd like to use when I travel (it's fairly small with a 12" screen). The bad part is that it is maxed out on memory with 384MB. Has anyone played with using Centos5 on systems with little memory? Ideally, I don't need too much - Firefox, Openoffice, a little Perl/Python/C here and there. I was thinking about using

Poweredge 2850 with LSI Logic / Symbios Logic 53c1030 PCI-X Fusion-MPT Dual Ultra320 SCSI
Did anyone manage to have xen (3.0.1 stable) run on this config? (this is on FC4 if it matters). I''ve tried recompiling the xen0 kernel with the Fusion options from my current kernel added, but it keeps removing some of them (maybe some that didn''t exist yet in kernel 2.6.12), and it seems I end up without the correct driver. If someone has this running, I''d be
