quick poppassd question
Hello, I did a quick change to the patched port of poppassd and am wondering if you think my code would introduce any potential problems. The idea is right after we check if the username exists, also check if the UID of that username is over 1000. I wanted to make sure that no one monkeys around with priveleged users once poppassd is running. So, the middle chunk of code is mine, everything

samba authentication via pam_pwdfile
I'm attempting to setup samba authentication via PAM and more specifically the pam_pwdfile module. So far I have had trouble determining the right mix of global settings to get this to work. I have read through many tutorials online, but so far I have not found good documentation on how to achieve this. What I am really attempting to do is unify the credentials for access to the

Apache Authorization Access Control - location of htpasswd in Centos 5.1?
Hi, I?m trying to set up a private family web site for genealogy, and want to set up Apache Authorization access control for this site, and once the user has logged in has access to the entire site. I?ve been reading the info at http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/howto/auth.html to learn how to do this. I?m just planning on passing out the same username and password to all family members and

Looking for a good way to manage passwords for CRAM-MD5
I prefer not to use clear text passwords, even over an encrypted connection. With IMAP, the only such mechanism with widespread client support is CRAM-MD5 (please correct my if I'm wrong... I'd love to be corrected here...). On the dovecot 2 wiki, the only way I've found to implement CRAM-MD5 support, is to use a passwd-like file: http://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/CRAM-MD5 I am

How do I stop status.xsl
So how does this work? Are you prompted with a password-only dialog, then what you type in has to match the value in htpasswd? Apache Authorization Access Control - location of, htpasswd in Centos 5.1
I don't think it's the path of htpasswd that's the problem but here it is anyway: /usr/bin/htpasswd. The problem is more likely that the directory you're trying to create the password file in with the command "htpasswd -c /passwd/passwords famsite" doesn't exist.
