[PATCH 0/6] Makefile cleanups
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at linux.intel.com>
This series includes a patch (PATCH 1/6) that I sent previously but I
thought it was worth sending it again since the rest of the series
depends on it, and it also gives a bit of context.
These cleanups make it simpler to do the big switchover to ELF modules
on the elflink branch because the libraries in $LIBS are now contained

[PATCH 00/20] Switch to ELF modules
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at linux.intel.com>
This series fixes some bugs and switches the elflink branch to be
entirely ELF modules. It applies on top of,
http://syslinux.zytor.com/archives/2011-April/016369.html
The deletions in the diff stat below are mainly from deleting
com32/elflink/modules (finally!). Now there should be no duplicate
code because we don't need COM32 and

This is a small set of patches for elflink branch based on
feng's elflink branch.
hpa, It seems that I can't log on terminus by ssh at home. So I can't push these
patches on my git tree.

Missing make dependencies?
I'm seeing some sporadic build failures with 'make -j4'. The failures are:
make[4]: *** No rule to make target 'hello.c32', needed by 'all'. Stop.
I've only seen the failures with com32/samples/hello.c32 and com32/rosh/rosh.c32.
I'm not a make expert, but I think it's due to missing dependencies. This patch
seems to fix my failures, but I'm

com32 license restrictions
Hello,
Would com32 modules be considered the same as an ordinary Linux
executable with respect to LGPL? That is, as long as you released any
changes to syslinux/com32 libs would you also have to release the
source to the com32 module?
Thanks for your time.

[PATCH 00/12] elflink shrinkage
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at linux.intel.com>
This is a series of patches that,
* shrink the core by moving things into an ldlinux ELF module
* begin wiring up some of the C versions of various functions
The core now only contains essential code and loads the ldlinux module
to do everything else, like providing a command line interface and
loading kernels.
The config file parsing

[GIT PULL] elflink ldlinux
Hi,
These patches contain support for some features that are already in
Syslinux 4 but weren't working properly on the elflink branch. It's
another step closer to feature parity with Syslinux 4.
Having to jump through the comboot API for localboot support is less
than ideal and I'll eventually fix that, probably when we move a big
chunk of code from asm to C.
Also, there's a

Library_modules (list of & wiki write permissions)
Hello,
I poked a little bit to extract the list of modules dependencies in
Syslinux v6 (see below). I have attached a bash script that generate a
nice table from the tarball. The output can either be an ASCII table, or
wiki markup, typically for the page Library_modules[1].
I am not in the wiki Editor group, so I can't put that in the wiki.
anyway, here's an updated dependency tree for

Syslinux 5.00-pre6: call it a beta
I think the Syslinux 5.00 branch is now at the point where I believe it
it is feature complete and should be able to replace the main Syslinux
branch.
As such, it is important that we get wider testing, and especially that
people let us know if and where it breaks. As of right now, there
aren't any known bugs...

[PATCH 0/9] elflink fixes
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at intel.com>
Here are the patches that I've got queued up based on the very helpful
feedback I received from people testing Syslinux 5.00-pre9. Unless
anyone has any concerns these will make it into Syslinux 5.00-pre10.

[GIT PULL] elflink bug fixes
Hi Peter,
Please pull the following changes.
Paulo, I had to revert your "pxe: resolve names via DNS from
protected-mode code" change because dns_resolv() is only implemented for
PXELINUX and causes undefined symbol references for ISOLINUX, etc. Feel
free to make the change again on top of the revert.
The following changes since commit e7bd19def830e8341b1a100956345f1028740b9e:

gpllib write_sectors() patch
Here is a partial patch that I'm using to illustrate a few questions
that I have.
Looking at the gpllib write_sectors (com32/gpllib/disk/write.c) it
looks like the allocated
size is wrong; size is in sectors so we should adjust the alloc/memcpy
by size*SECTOR.
Also, comparing core/diskio.c it looks like the registers aren't even
setup right.
In the patch below I put an #if 0 around the

PATCH/RFC chain.c: update iterator code, yank from chain.c, move both to separate directory
1) code split and move
Iterator related functionality is yanked from chain.c and moved to
iterator.{c,h}. Both are moved to com32/chain and this way chain.c is ready
for further splitting.
Alternatively, partiter could be moved to com32/lib at any time in the future.
It's potentially useful for other modules (e.g. if someone wanted to code
partition dumper or editor).
2) Iterator updates

can't get write_sectors to work...
Hi,
Hopefully you someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. First, the code. I
placed this at the bottom of the main loop in com32/modules/disk.c as a
simple test of writing to the disk:
printf(" Host bus: %s, Interface type: %s\n\n",
d->edd_params.host_bus_type, d->edd_params.interface_type);
zero_buf = calloc(1, d->edd_params.bytes_per_sector);
