How do I wrap a <%= link to %> around an image?
I''ve got a bunch of dynamically generated link paths that I want to use
to link some dynamically-generated image paths. Specifically, I want to
link thumbnails in a gallery to the larger images.
But I''m stymied by Rails'' syntax. I can''t figure out how to do this.
I tried this:
<%= link_to(image_tag("../../images/photos/photo.photogroup/TN_

problem in finding sizes of objects using a for loop
Dear All,
I wanted to extract the sizes of all created objects. For E.g when I
created 2 objects(x and y), I got their sizes using the following
code:
> x<-rnorm(10000)
> y<-runif(100,min=40,max=1000)
> ls()
[1] "x" "y"
> object.size(x)
80024 bytes
> object.size(y)
824 bytes
However, I was unable to get their sizes when I used a for loop in the

Get File Names in Folder, Read Files, Update, and Write
Dear All,
Could you please recommend how I can do this?
I have several text files in one folder. Let's name them A0801.RSK,
A0802.RSK, ....
I would like R to
1) Know all file names in this folder
2) Update value in one column of these files
3) Write results in another text file with _xval in the file names
Below is R code for read, update, and write one file

Problem handling NA indexes for character matrixes (PR#1447)
In a package I've been developing for manipulating genetic data I discovered
a problem when indexing into character arrays using NA's:
Create a character matrix and a numeric matrix
> cmat <- matrix( letters[1:4], ncol=2, nrow=2)
> nmat <- matrix( 1:4, ncol=2, nrow=2)
Create an index vector containing an NA value
> indvec <- c(1,2,NA)
Indexing works fine for both

flac improvement??
hello my name is Ludovico Ausiello, i'm a ph.d at the university of Bologna
and I've developped an open source alternative to proprietary philips
superAudioCD encoder (that actually cost some thousands dollars!) that has
better performance (it's seems strange.. but..) I'm interested to use the
flac encoder to compress the 1-bit stream that is the output of my encoder

Regarding the memory allocation problem
Dear All,
My main objective was to compute the distance of 100000 vectors from a
set having 900 other vectors. I've a file named "seq_vec" containing
100000 records and 256 columns.
While computing, the memory was not sufficient and resulted in error
"cannot allocate vector of size 152.1Mb"
So I've approached the problem in the following:

How to remove the vertical space between two graps
Hi,
I have created a barplot using the following code.
a<-c(11,23,15,34,42,31)
m<-matrix(a,nrow=2)
m[2,]<-(-1)*m[2,]
par(mar=c(4,4,4,0))
barplot(m[2,],horiz=T)
par(mar=c(4,0,4,2))
barplot(m[1,],horiz=T,col="black")
and the plot obtained is shown in "plot1.tiff".
I was not willing to see the gap (vertical space) between two graphs.
How can I achieve it?

Manipulations with CO2 dataset on R
Hi,
I just started a new course this semester on R, I never used it in my life and i'm stuck on these questions from 3 days, it would be really nice if someone could explain me the answers with the relative commands.
thanks a lot in advance
The following 7 questions are based on the CO2 dataset of R.
1) How many of the plants in CO2 are Mc2 for Plant?
2) How many are either Mc2 or Mn2?

Plotting Standard Regression Fit-Am I wrong or a bug?
I'm trying to plot a time series (quarterly observations, seasonal effect,
T=56),regression line and predicted point on the same plot.
I'm using following commands:
> plot(qdts,xlim=c(1982,1997))
> lines(fitted(m2)~time,data=qd,col="red")
> points(predict(m2,newdata=nqd),col="blue")
where:
qdts<-ts(qd$durables,start=c(1982,1),freq=4)

turn list into dataframe
Dear R users,
I'm starting to use 'apply' functions rather than for loops in R, and
sometimes the output is a bit different than what I want. In this case, the
command was
tapply(myvector,myindex,cumsum)
And the output was something like this:
$`SNRL1 Core 120`
[1] 2.8546 4.0778 5.2983 6.3863 7.5141 8.5498 9.5839 10.6933
$`SNRL1 Core 230`

Hello All,
I am trying to compile Samba on POSIX under OpenVMS on a DEC 2000 AXP, however I am having difficulty defining the right FLAGSM and LIBSSM in the Makefile. So thus I'm having trouble getting the correct #includes, can anyone help?

Wine icons for Windows applications
Hi,
The latest version of Wine on a Ubuntu/Gnome system automatically creates the correct icons when shortcuts are placed in the desktop or "virtual start menu". However, it seems that the largest icon created is 48x48. Can this size be increased as these icons look fuzzy when using applications like Docky with zoom enabled? (or does this need to be changed somewhere else rather than

Stuck ...can't get sapply and xmlTreeParse working
Can't seem to get the code below working. It gets stuck on line 24 inside the
function hm; comments show the line in question. The function hm is called
by sapply and is at the bottom of the code. Other stuff above line 24 works
correctly including the first couple of lines of the function hm. Should I
be using a different apply function or am I doing something wrong with
xmlTreeParse ?

Tables: Invitation to make a collective package

I would like to make an invitation to make a collective package with all

I know that there are many packages with these functions, the original idea is
collect all this functions and to make a single package, because is arduous for
the user know all this functions broadcast in many packages.
So, I think that the original packages can continue with its

NHW Image codec - improvement of precision
Hi again,
I have improved precision of my codec (on the encoder and decoder).I have
also improved the -h1 quality setting.-Source code and binaries at
http://nhwcodec.blogspot.com/-.
I am still trying to improve precision of my codec, with keeping my
low-complexity (fast) approach.
I do not totally use the reference (and impressive) block prediction with
different modes + residual coding scheme,
