httpd writes much to /var? How to audit it properly?
Hi All. I currently use: Apache/2.2.21 on: 2.6.32-279.9.1.el6.centos.plus.x86_64 CentOS release 6.3 (Final) >From time to time (it happenes on different machines) I have a very high load up to 100, and I see that there are up to 300/s writes to /var at the same time. Doubled up RAM to 32 GB - now how to speed up a LAPP server?
Dear CentOS users, I run a small Facebook game at a CentOS 6.3 machine with PostgreSQL 8.4.3 + few PHP scripts + 1 Perl daemon and even though the server worked ok, I've suggested my users to double up the RAM to 32 GB and they have collected money for that. Now my problem is that I don't know, which knob to turn and how to really use the additional memory. Below is my top output at the

Kernel panic after update to 6.4
After successfully updating three CentOS 6.3 VM guests to 6.4 I decided to update the host as well. And it failed to boot. Kernel panic - Not syncing: Attempted to kill init! Pid: 1, comm: init not tainted: 2.6.32-358.2.1.el6.x86_64 #1 Plus a call trace I couldn't see Luckily I was able to boot from the previous kernel and get my system back up. possible nfs issue
Hi all, we've started receiving complaints from users that seemingly use more quota than they actually have. We noticed that these users have (in some cases many) .nfs files in their mailspool. Some of our admins checked their own dirs, and noticed them there as well. This could of course be unrelated to dovecot (kernel issue, netapp issue) but maybe somehow has an idea about if dovecot could

I'm trying to install a OCZ Vertex3 SSD on each of the two servers to do some ssd caching tests... system sees the drive, so I do the following... # parted -a min
