Translation of centos-art.sh script (Round 2)
Hi guys, I want to thank you for all the feedback provided in previous mails about the translation of centos-art.sh script. I would like to share that, based on your feedback, the centos-art.sh script was updated with the intention of removing the issues found. I would appreciate if you could realize another test for the script. Note that both the centos-art.sh script and the CentOS artwork

Guide to stripping Centos 3
I responded to a post in the Dell poweredge mailing list earlier today. My answer was off the top of my head, with a bit of experimentation. The content may be useful in the Cenyos context as well to admin's looking to strip the size of an install to the bare bones. Comment welcomed. Can anyone see any packages which I have missed? -- Russ Herrold ---------- Forwarded message

procmail, and the care and feeding of mailing list content received
Some threads just go on too long. Personally I think a troll has hijacked the main centos list again and is inducing food fight behaviours while that troll perfectly 'innocently' asserting that it is just respoding to all email. see: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4216011961522818645 for a discussion of the problem of 'capture' in FOSS projects. But if one loses

ArtWork edit
Dear Russ. I have noticed your recent edit of the ArtWork page. First thanks for the grammar corrections. Besides that I would like to ask you not to use the wiki to chat (at least with me, and I guess Alain, too). Just ask what's unclear and we will try to make it clearer. Let's start with the Denmark font: No, the font is proprietary and could not be shipped within the distribution.

rename of EOL page needed
I've updated: http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/EOLC3 which, of course no longer applies to just one major release I am unfamiliar with the process of pushing through a rename of a page, but I see copies of change notices with Ralph doing it from time to tome. May I request an assist here please? -- Russ herrold

"Bzzzt wrong --- yada" is contentious, we don't need it. Please. 2: It's not rpm, it's the packager => "The killer is innocent, the *gun* killed the victim" " the gun didn't kill him, the *bullet* did" "no, the wound did!" "no, the loss of blood did" "no, dying did". *jeesh* Brian Brunner brian.t.brunner at

Getting rid of the How_Do_I_Become_a_CentOS_developer page
Hi, I removed the above page before, but I saw Russ added it again. Let me explain why I think that page needs to die. It offers little insight to how one can become a developer. What is a CentOS developer ? That's the first confusing part. The page answers the question with a: "show competence and things will happen" We have a much better Contribute page that highlights ways
