Samba 4 slow write
Hi Jones, many thanks for your reply. Yepp, I'm using ACL's (Posix ACL's) on filesystem to regulate the access of users for files and directories. Do you mean that this is the "normal" way? These geteuid and getegid system calls are so slow? On the previous system (Debian Wheezy, Samba 3) I've also used ACL's, but there were much faster than this... What should

creating unicode_map.437 and unicode_map.ISO8859-1?
Hello, I am running HP-UX 11 with Samba 2.2.5 binaries for HPUX and I keep getting the error that Samba can't find the unicode_map.xxx file. Well, I notice that all I have in /usr/local/samba/lib/codepages is codepage type files, not unicode. Why do the binaries not include a compiled make_unicodemap? I did download the source and found the .c file for the command. When I try to run

Oracle 9.2.0.6 on Solaris 10
How can I tell if this is normal behaviour? Oracle imports are horribly slow, an order of magnitude slower than on the same hardware with a slower disk array and Solaris 9. What I can look for to see where the problem lies? The server is 99% idle right now, with one database running. Each sample is about 5 seconds. I''ve tried setting kernel parameters despite the docs saying that

Compiling Samba4 RC3 on AIX 6.1 with IBM vac
Sorry - the first post got sent as a response to an unrelated thread :-( ........................... Hi, I'm trying to get a samba4 build on AIX 6.1, and run into a couple of problems: 1. Damaged super block / fs root
I have accidently damaged the first block(s) of a btrfs partition and can''t mount it anymore. I can see that my data is still intact by running a command like: cat /dev/sda5 | hexdump -C | more Do any (experimental) tools exist which would allow me to recover the files? dovecot and time
I found something interesting via strace. lda is writing a timestamp with utime before doign the fsync, but I'm really not a C guy, so I have no idea why that's going on via procmail and not via commandline. I assume it's related to the choice of pread64 vs read. when called from commandline (working): read(0, "July 14-20, 2013\n10 courses. Bon"..., 4096) = 4096
