jpeglib.h in a strange place
Dear All,
Would anybody have any advice to give on that:
The Facts:
- I installed (compiled) R on SGI IRIX (6.5)
- I am not root
- I discovered the jpeg device I need now badly doesn't work
(postscript is not so happy with 19 millions spots)
- after investigation, it appeared the jpeglib.h was detected not recent
enough at configure time
- the jpeglib.h in /usr/include is version 6a

jpeg support in R
Hi, I'd like to have jpeg support in R under RedHat Linux, when I ran the
./configure in the install process, the config.log gave me the following
error messages:
configure:43621: checking if jpeglib version >= 6b

I assume I need to install some system jpeg libraries. Could someone tell me
what I should do to get the configure

Building libjpeg-turbo with LTO
Adding a couple of lld folks.
I helped Shishir debug this, the link line looked like:
/home/sjessu/build/bin/clang -O0 -flto -o jcstest jcstest.o
./.libs/libjpeg.a
and the issue was that libjpeg.a was created with the system ar instead of
llvm-ar. It worked when recreating libjpeg.a with llvm-ar.
I noticed that the lld code has some special handling for the case
when there is a missing

Hello,
I'm using Fedora 15 and trying to use Wine to install Star Craft 2.
I'm seeing the following error when attempting to run the Installer:

building biOps on macports, and configure--vars
All,
the MacOSX binary build of the biOps package is broken on cran, so I am trying to compile from source. I am very close; the trick is apparently that this package depends on fftw3, libjpeg and libtiff. My fftw3 is in /usr/local/, but my libjpeg and libtiff are in /opt/local/ since i got them through macports. In general, I'd like to keep as many of my third-party libraries as I can in the

can't install gd-devel on centos 7.1
Hey guys,
I'm trying to instal gd-devel onto a CentOS 7 host.

Error: Package: gd-last-devel-2.1.1-2.el7.remi.x86_64 (remi)

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
But when I try to do that I get the error you see above.

Optional libraries (libtiff, etc) not found
I installed the (binary) biOps package, which can use libtiff and libfftw.
Then I used macports to install the libraries (in /opt/local/lib). But I
restart R and biOps still does not see the libraries.
I've tried adding symbolic links from /opt/local/lib to /usr/local/lib, I've
added /opt/local/lib to LIBRARY_PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH, and
DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH, and it doesn't work.
Do you

Unable to install R 3.1.2 on Debian:Testing
Dear Johannes, R-sig-debian list,
Along with Dirk Eddelbuettel I've been maintaining Debian-based Docker
containers for R. Recently our container installing r-base has started to
fail. This seems to be due to a problem with the libjpeg dependencies. The
example I show below was working with debian:jessie on Jan 5th, but has
been failing since then.

status of the FreeBSD port/package and some questions
Hello,
Over time, the FreeBSD R port/package [1] has accumulated some cruft. We've
begun an overhaul and the process has generally been positive since most of the
local patches and workarounds are no longer necessary.
However, we still require a few workarounds.
1. Libjpeg
The autotools check for libjpeg >=6b fails even when libjpeg is present
(e.g. /usr/local/lib/libjpeg.so.8 exists).

hello everyone:
On this boring weekend, I tried compile R-trunk on windows 11 arm64 using clangarm64+msys2 on macbook m1 , it surprisingly easy to compiled and run.
more investigation and test and code modify need to be done ,but IMO this is a good beginning !!
to compile R on windows 11 arm64 just need :
1 svn checkout R-trunk and add USE_LLVM=YES in MKRules.dist or Mkrules.local
