tk mouse cursor icon widget tkwinfo tkfocus questions
1. I want to change the mouse cursor over my window into a wait/watch icon while R computes. Can this be done directly? Some ancient tcltk mailing lists said change the cursor over every widget in the window: foreach widget [winfo children $window] { $widget config -cursor watch } To do this I'll need a list of

Tk force refresh
I'm trying to use a Tk widget to show some progress & intermediate results in a long-running R calculation. Does anybody know how (or whether) I can force a window redraw without waiting for the idle loop? Currently, refreshes only seem to happen when we return to the R toplevel read-eval-print loop. Thanks, Mark <><

gif, jpeg and png image files reader AND tcltk image
Hi all, Roger Peng and Jason Turner's suggestion with ImageMagick seem to be the simplest "dirty" way to get the problem solved. But I ran into yet another interesting but quite round-about way to solve the problem (partially). Through tcltk package, one can read in the gif image with > x <- tkcmd("image", "create", "photo", file=mypic.gif)

authentication from win2k DC
Hi, I've followed the instructions in the chapter 8 of the documentation to connect my AIX 4.3.3 machine with Samba 2.2.8.1 (taken from bull as binary for AIX). The server is in the domain now, but the domain users can't log on to the samba server. The first problem in the log file is: [2003/07/08 18:00:46, 0] smbd/password.c:domain_client_validate(1558) domain_client_validate: could

I've added it in the way as described in 2. smbpasswd -r XXX -j TELIT -U mydomainuser and I got the message successfully joined domain telit (or something similar) XXX - here this is the same server, which I use with security = server and this is the PDC of the win2k domain I don't know what kind of account has the machine in the win2k domain - as I said I don't have any direct

tcltk, X11 protocol error: Bug?
Hi, I am having trouble debugging this one. The code is attached below, but it seems to be a problem at the C-tk interface. If I run this 1 time there are no problems if I run it more than once I start to get warnings that increase in multiples of 11 everytime I run it. Here is a sample session > source("clrramp2.r") Loading required package: tcltk Loading Tcl/Tk interface ... done

Getting width of Tk text widget via tcltk
Dear list members, Is it possible via a suitable tcltk command to get the *current* width, in characters, of a Tk text widget that has been resized with the mouse? In the following code, the reported width of the text widget doesn't change, even though it has been resized. I can, however, get the current width in pixels: > library(tcltk) > top <- tktoplevel() > textWindow <-

I think IDMAP_RID would not be the appropriate solution for me. Not only do I want consistent IDMapping across all servers - which this could do - but I want them to match the the existing unix uidNumber in LDAP. Thanks for your help. Problem with geometry manager in TclTK
Hello, everyone. I have the following problem with TclTk: I create some windows and want to change their position with geometry manage (sometimes they will be centered, sometimes not). If the toplevel is created and its dimensions are gathered via 'tkwinfo', I get (usually) correct values. However, if this window is created by a function (in the following example, by 'ask.format')

IDMAP_NSS on member server
I don't have an AD backend for this domain. The DC's are "classic" domain controllers, Samba 3.6 , with LDAP backend for all accounts. Would this still be an option? I tried adding idmap config MYDOMAIN:schema_mode = rfc2307 idmap config MYDOMAIN:backend = ad idmap config MYDOMAIN:range = 100-300 Didn't seem to work. Thanks On 12/18/14 11:57, Rowland
