pxelinux doesn't answer ARP requests when it should
Hi there. Regarding currently known problem as stated on http://syslinux.zytor.com/pxe.php: we should probably call the UDP receive function in the keyboard entry loop, so that we answer ARP requests. Here's another illustration of the problem, description of related pxelinux problem and workaround for both problems. Configuration: dhcp/tftp server -- 213.180.194.116 (00:1B:78:05:84:6C)

Serial console with pxelinux on Soekris net4501
Hello, I have a Soekris net4501, which I'm PXE booting using pxelinux. Everything seems to be working splendidly, except for the fact that I can't seem to make pxelinux understand use the net4501's serial console port correctly. The net4501 uses the serial console as its primary interface; I'm using a null modem cable and minicom to operate with it. At boot, its startup

pxelinux.0 not fully booting in EFI 64 mode...not requesting ldlinux.e64 via TFTP...
Spike, There are multiple binaries that come with syslinux. I would highly recommend that you start with the official syslinux pre-built's of pre-7 on kernel.org. You will find inside an syslinux.efi in a 64 bit folder and one in an 32 bit folder. These are the files that you need to point your clients to for efi booting. pxelinux.0 is for bios booting only. We are using Syslinux version 6.03 for all the function within our TFTP server. We are using Ubuntu as our main TFTP server for most deployments and WDS for our

chain to another pxelinux server?
Q: Is it possible to 'chain' from one pxelinux on one TFTP server to another pxelinux based on another TFTP server? I would like to do the following: globalTftpServer hosts a pxelinux menu system with lots of interesting things, like diskless linux installs and memtest86. Let's say that globalTftpServer is maintained by someone else. localTftpServer is on a subnet that is used for

Hi I am trying to set up a thin client. I have managed to set up DHCP and TFTP on a Fedora Core 6 server but the problem is when PXELinux on the client tries to load the configuration file. I get the message: Trying to load: pxelinux.cfg/01-00-0c-29-ca-7a-ce Trying to load: pxelinux.cfg/0A000014 etc.. Trying to load: pxelinux.cfg/default Unable to locate configuration file If I use a TFTP

pxelinux stopped working
Hello. Some time ago, everything worked for me. But now it is very strange, it does no more work (using exactly the same setup) Do you have any idea how to find out what's wrong? Here is my situation: I am trying to boot over PXE. TFTP server is running. DHCP server is running from the same machine. Both by dnsmasq. TFTP server has the following files and directories:

run pxelinux.0 on a booted system
I am trying to come up with a 'clever' way to pxe-boot boxes that don't have any way to pxe boot. as in, old laptops that only have pc-mica nics. "Etherboot does not (yet) offer support for PCMCIA cards." http://www.etherboot.org/wiki/pcmcia_support I am not trying to do 'that' - just trying to come up with a process to work around it. Something like this:

Availability of a variable of the TFTP server IP address to be used in pxelinux.cfg/default
Hello, I'm new to Linux and quite inexperienced - sorry. I set up about 20 PXE servers with several tools as different boot images. Two of the tools require files to be loaded from the TFTP after the kernel has loaded. Currently I do the following in pxelinux.cfg/default: label abc kernel def append TFTP://2.3.4.5/xyz My PXE boot images are set on one master server and from there

syslinux.efi [PXELINUX EFI 64 boot] not properly TFTP'ing ldlinux.e64
Gene and co, Now my pxelinux efi 64 boot is properly loading syslinux.efi (via TFTP) It then issues a TFTP file request for efi.x64/pxelinux.cfg/ldlinux.e64. (All my efi x64 content is under efi.x64/pxelinux.cfg). However, I see that it fails to properly negotiate the TFTP options with my TFTP server. so it never transfers ldlinux.e64 over. In its file request packet, it asks for these TFTP
