openssh-2.1.1p4 and sco 5.0.5
Hi folks,
just I installed openssh 2.1.1p4 on a sco OpenServer 5.0.5 machine and it works fine. The only problem I have is the X11 forwarding. I have allowed this feature in the /etc/sshd_config and the /etc/ssh_config, respectively and the /usr/bin/X11/xauth program was in the PATH during compilation.
As you can see in the logfile the sco system enables the X11 forwarding and sets the DISPLAY

Fwd: Making rq and bootcov play nice
John,
You can make a local version of bootcov which either:
deletes these arguments from the call to fitter, or
modify the switch statement to include rq.fit,
the latter would need to also modify rq() to return a fitFunction
component, so the first option is simpler. One of these days I'll
incorporate clustered se's into summary.rq, but meanwhile
this seems to be a good alternative.

HELP WITH SEM LIBRARY AND WITH THE MODEL'S SPECIFICATION
Dear users,
i'm using the sem package in R, because i need to improve a confermative factor analisys.
I have so many questions in my survey, and i suppose, for example, that Question 1 (Q1) Q2 and Q3 explain the same thing (factor F1), Q4,Q5 and Q6 explain F2 and Q7 and Q8 explain F3...
For check that what i supposed is true, i run this code to see if the values of loadings are big or not.

Bursty writes - why?
I have a 24 x 1TB system being used as an NFS file server. Seagate SAS disks connected via an LSI 9211-8i SAS controller, disk layout 2 x 11 disk RAIDZ2 + 2 spares. I am using 2 x DDR Drive X1s as the ZIL. When we write anything to it, the writes are always very bursty like this:
ool 488K 20.0T 0 0 0 0
xpool 488K 20.0T 0 0 0 0

suggestion for example for base:naresid
Dear list:
since it took me a little while to figure out how to make use of naresid, I thought that
the below R code might be useful as an example on the help page.
Regards,
Markus
# generate some data
x1 <- runif(20)
y <- 10 + 5*x1 + rnorm(20)
summary(lm.0 <- lm(y ~ x1))
# append some NA's to y
y <- c(y, rep(NA, 5))
# generate some further x1s
x1 <- c(x1, runif(5))

RE: z-scores for different factor levels
Hi Stuart,
I often use this small function
standardize <- function(x) ( x - mean(x, na.rm=T) ) / sqrt(var(x,
na.rm=T))
to standardize variables.
You should be able to use this to do what you want by splitting the data
frame into sections based on the factor level, using standardize() to create
a new variable in each section, then paste the data frame back together.
Something like:

New ZFS Intent Log (ZIL) device available - Beta program now open!
The DDRdrive X1 OpenSolaris device driver is now complete,
please join us in our first-ever ZFS Intent Log (ZIL) beta test
program. A select number of X1s are available for loan,
preferred candidates would have a validation background
and/or a true passion for torturing new hardware/driver :-)
We are singularly focused on the ZIL device market, so a test

Performance issues with iSCSI under Linux
Hi!We''re trying to pinpoint our performance issues and we could use all the help to community can provide. We''re running the latest version of Nexenta on a pretty powerful machine (4x Xeon 7550, 256GB RAM, 12x 100GB Samsung SSDs for the cache, 50GB Samsung SSD for the ZIL, 10GbE on a dedicated switch, 11x pairs of 15K HDDs for the pool). We''re connecting a single Linux

Re: Echo and other reasons to migrate to BRI
Brent-
There is no good way to say what changing the hardware and PSTN hookup will
probably do for the echo problems. I'm not sure if you mentioned (lost in
the past history of your post now) what sort of hardware you're using for
PSTN connection now- TDMs, X100s, ATA's, etc- but that could also be a
potential cause. I've heard tell of aftermarket X100s and certain ATA's

sipura3000 problems in callcenter
I have 4 sipuras 3000 in a small callcenter connected to the PSTN receiving calls and forwarding them to Asterisk and viceversa.
In addtiion I have some x100s, linksys FXSs, etc
Strange things are happening with the Sipura and Asterisk which I cannot seem to figure out. During off hours at the callcenter, when no one is placing calls, if I place or receive a call with any of the Sipura,

Brian Ripley pointed out that there is already an R function scale() that
does the work of my standardize().

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
