Updating qvalue and xtable
Good Morning Everyone, I was going through my list of FTBFS packages today and I fixed all my R packages but 2: qvalue and xtable. qvalue requires ggplot2 xtable requires: lsmeans, spdep, splm, sphet, plm I am not doing any R anymore these days and in fact spot has been the one maintaining most of my R packages these days (thanks spot!!), so I am not really interested in maintaining more R

repeating rows or columns within a matrix
Hello Spse I have a matrix, say 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and I would like to expand it by repeating rows within the matrix, to get, if the repeating factor is 2, say: 123 123 456 456 789 789 (or columnwise as well) . There must be a smart way of doing that? Many thanks Juhana Vartiainen juhana.vartiainen at labour.fi -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Solving Simultaneous nonlinear equations
Dear: I am having trouble solving simultaneous nonlinear equations by R. I have been using BBsolve (BB) to do so. Though the function is very strong, still the program doesn't converge. I have tried all (according to my small knowledge) the options described in the help file. Now I am trying to find something else than BBsolve for solving simultaneous nonlinear equations by R. Any idea or

help with numerical solution for two simultaneous nonlinear equations in 2 variables
Hi, I am relatively new to R and am trying to solve two simultaneous nonlinear equations in two variables numerically, and was wondering if anyone knew if any of the packages could do that. An alternative is writing my own code using Newton-Raphson; I did that but was not able to get good convergence. Any ideas please? Thanks Yogesh [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Please keep your posts "on-list". You are much more likely to get a useful answer that way. There are many others on the list whose knowledge and insight are far greater than mine. I have therefore cc-ed the list in this reply. On 14/05/18 21:48, Soufianou Abou wrote: > Thank you for advice, Rolf Turner > > My question is as follows: > > I'd use maxent to

[R-sig-Geo] Error installing 'rgdal' on Centos 7
Please do not cross-post. Please do provide sufficient information to help diagnose your problem (here the output of the ./configure run during installation). Almost certainly you are trying to install from source when one or more external dependency is not satisfied. Did you read: http://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/redhat/README and note that R-rgdal is *not* provided as a binary? Did you

Simultaneous equations
Dear all, I am relatively new to R and have had some difficulty in understanding the user manual for a package that I have downloaded to evaluate non-linear simultaneous equations. The package is called systemfit. Does anyone have any experience of this package? What I am trying to do is solve a non linear simultaneous equations... Could anyone give me an example (please) of the code that

[R-sig-Geo] Comparing spatial point patterns - Syrjala test
Hi, I went ahead and implemented something. However: - I cannot garantie it gives correct results since, unfortunately, the data used in Syrjala 1996 is not published along with the paper. To avoid mistakes, I started by coding things in a fast and simple way and then tried to optimize the code. At least all versions given the same results. - As expected, the test is still quite slow

Question on Simultaneous Equations & Forecasting
Hi Frances, I have not touched the system.fit package for quite some time, but to solve your problem the following two pointers might be helpful: 1) Recast your model in the revised form, i.e., include your identity directly into your reaction functions, if possible. 2) For solving your model, you can employ the Gau?-Seidel method (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gauss%E2%80%93Seidel_method).

Question on Simultaneous Equations & Forecasting
Hello, I have estimated a simultaneous equation model (similar to Klein's model) in R using the system.fit package. I have an identity equation, along with three other equations. Do you know how to explicitly identify the identity equation in R? I am also trying to forecast the dependent variables in the simultaneous equation model, while incorporating the identity equation in the
