Wine distro with MS WOS look and feel
i think that if a distribution with MS WOS XP and 7 look and feel based on Gnome and Ubuntu or debian is released a lot of people would migrate.
People is comdortable with what they know, even Gnome is easy to use, they like Control panel, Documents and Settings and Start vuttons from MS WOS.
If program Icons should be in desktops, an start button with a control panel, My documents and so one,

Is it possible to install a open source wine desktop program, that can be launch, full screen and where you can work as a MS WOS desktop, with units, windows and so one?.
If not it would be a great idea to implement.
If YES please tell me what desktop program is better to install in wine.

ZFS and Live Upgrade
Is there any update/work-around/patch/etc as of the S10u4 WOS for the bugs that existed with respect to LU, Zones, and ZFS? More specifically, the following:
6359924 live upgrade needs to include support for zfs
I can''t even find that bug ID on bugs.opensolaris.org (or via sunsolve when I''m logged in for that matter) anymore. Basically, one couldn''t put zoneroot on

Determinism in the Inlining order?
Hi all,
Just wanted to see if anyone could answer this dumb question I had. I wrote
a bisector for the inliner based on caller/callee at Inliner.cpp, but I am
getting conflicting results. Does anyone know if the inlining order is
deterministic?
Regards,

Cleaned up belkinunv diff
Hi Peter
Now I can get subdrivers to have ups.conf/command-line options, I've started
looking at making the newhidups belkin-hid subdriver have the wait and
wait-on-shutdown behaviour in the same was as belkinunv, and having just
gone back and gone "yuck!" at my huge comments in my revised belkinunv
source, I decided to clear out all the extraneous commentary in my

OT: Dropbox - Fedora Core 9 RPM will work on CentOS 5.4?
Dropbox has an RPM for Fedora Core 9 (x86). I am running CentOS 5.4 on
my Desktop, which I believe is based on Fedora Core 6. Are the
libraries Fedora Core 9 uses substantially different than those CentOS
5.4 uses? If Dropbox had an SRPM available, I would Download that and
Rebuild, but I'm sure it is Proprietary and they won't release an SRPM
to me. TIA!

Dropbox on CentOS 6?
Hi,
I just spent a couple of unnerving hours trying to make Dropbox work on
CentOS 6.6.
Is there a way that
1. Actually works?
2. Doesn't include jumping through burning loops?
Cheers from the sunny south of France,
Niki

Downloading a csv from Dropbox using the shareable link
Hello Kindred R Spirits...
I'm trying to get a file (csv) from Dropbox using their shareable link
concept. They issue a short URL that goes to a web page where you see
a button that says "Download File". They don't really give you the
URL of the file itself, just this page. Is there a way to coax R into
getting such a file? I don't even really want the file per

Model studies in one analysis using treatment as a five level moderator in a meta-regression
Hello,
I am medical student, writing a meta-analysis on complication and reoperation rates after the five most common treatments of distal radius fractures. I have been busy with the statistics for months by my self, but find it quite hard since our classes were very basic. Now I want to compare the treatment modalities to see if there are significant differences. Using R I was able to

gdata selectively not working
I can use gdata to successfully read in the example Excel file, but not any
other excel files. Why might this be the case? It seems that the problem
has something to do with opening the database but no indication as to what
the problem is. So i'm at a loss of how to fix it.
