Rolling upgrade from 3.6.3 to 3.10.5
You cannot do a rolling upgrade from 3.6.x to 3.10.x You will need downtime. Even 3.6 to 3.7 was not possible... see some references to it below: https://marc.info/?l=gluster-users&m=145136214452772&w=2 https://gluster.readthedocs.io/en/latest/release-notes/3.7.1/ # gluster volume set <volname> server.allow-insecure on Edit /etc/glusterfs/glusterd.vol to contain this line: option

Rolling upgrade from 3.6.3 to 3.10.5
Hi all, I'm currently in process of upgrading a replicated cluster (1 x 4) from 3.6.3 to 3.10.5. The nodes run CentOS 6. However after upgrading the first node, the said node fails to connect to other peers (as seen via 'gluster peer status'), but somehow other non-upgraded peers can still see the upgraded peer as connected. Writes to the Gluster volume via local mounts of

nutdrv_qx does not support UPS, blazer_ups does
Hello All, I tested our new UPS yesterday. I noticed that while the blazer_ups drivers support this device, the newer nutdrv_qx does not. I suppose that this should not be the case, as nutdrv_qx will replace blazer_ups(?). Versions: I installed Nut on Ubuntu 13.10 (64 bit) from the standard package (2.6.4-2.3ubuntu2), and I also installed from the source tarball (2.7.1), into a different

Rolling upgrade from 3.6.3 to 3.10.5
Yes, I did an offline upgrade. 1. Stop all clients using gluster servers. 2. Stop glusterfsd and glusterd on both servers. 3. Backed up /var/lib/gluster* in all servers just to be safe. 4. Upgraded all servers from 3.6.x to 3.10.x (I did not have quotas or anything that required special steps) 5. Started gluster daemons again and confirmed everything was fine prior to letting clients connect. 5.

Rolling upgrade from 3.6.3 to 3.10.5
Hi Diego, Just to clarify, so did you do an offline upgrade with an existing cluster (3.6.x => 3.10.x)? Thanks. Comparing figures?
Hello, I am working on tests to compare figures. I have been using ImageMagick, which creates a figure signature, and I can compare a "test" figure signature against a saved "reference" figure signature. It seems to work pretty well. However, it is slow as it requires reading from the file system. Are there any options to compare figures on memory? For example, if I

I suggest perceptual diff. You could write a wrapper around it. http://pdiff.sourceforge.net On Mon, 7 May 2018 16:49 Ramiro Barrantes, <ramiro at precisionbioassay.com> wrote: > Hello, > > I am working on tests to compare figures. forcing the driver to issue a different command on shutdown
It seems that the UPS I wrote in my previous mail uses the Megatec protocol, but does not support the S<n>R<m> "Shut Down and Restore" Command. This means that the server will shut down cleanly, but it will not boot automatically when the utility power comes back. There is another shutdown command according to the protocol description, although I do not really understand the

[PATCH] Btrfs-progs: make scrub IO priority configurable
The btrfs tool is changed in order to support command line parameters to configure the IO priority of the scrub tasks. Also the default is changed. The default IO priority for scrub is the idle class now. Some basic performance measurements have been done with the goal to measure which IO priority for scrub gives the best overall disk data throughput. The kernel was configured to use the CFQ IO

ionice and blkback
Hi Everyone, When you want to use ionice to limit the amount of disk a DomU has, due to have to run ionice on every blkback process? Incidently, what is the format of the blkback process? I see the following in ps aux: blkback.xx.xvda blkback.xx.xvda1 blkback.xx.xvd where xx appears to be the domain ID. I''m curious as to the last few letters mean? Thanks

Wine-1.3.11 will not compile for me
http://james-camerons-avatar.wikia.com Dear All, I've been using Wine happily on my Linux server for quite some years now. Even wine-1.3.9 has compiled without any issues whatsoever. But ever since yesterday, when I tried to compile the latest version 1.3.11 I'm stuck and don't know how to help myself. Please give me some ideas. As usual, I started compiling wine by

[PATCH] Btrfs-progs: add option to skip whether a scrub has started/resumed in userspace
I hit a problem that i can not start scrub when i am trying to track superblock generation mismatch problems. The fact is that we are trying to check whether we have started a scrub operation in userspace, this will make us can''t start scrub if that record file is damaged itself. By adding a option to skip that check, everything will be fine. Signed-off-by: Wang Shilong

Bug?
Hello, In my code I found something that looks like an anomaly, I found a reproducible example in which I am just trying to compare each row in a data frame against the first row: a<-data.frame(row=c("B","C","B"),column=c(2,2,10),assay=c("Assay1","Assay1","Assay1"),plate=c(1,1,1),stringsAsFactors=FALSE) apply(a[1:2,],1,function(x) {

Mac OSX doesn't retain file timestamp when copying to SAMBA share
Hi All, I'm not sure what's causing this but every time I copy a file from one of the Macs (details below) to the Samba server the file timestamp is changed to the copy time rather than retaining the last modified time. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Systems: Mac OSX (versions 10.3.x -> 10.4.x) Windows 2000 Professional Solaris 10 running Samba 3.0.11 Tests... Mac

heavy IO load when working with sparse files (centos 6.4)
Dear List, We have noticed a variety of reproducible conditions working with sparse files on multiple servers under load with CentOS 6.4. The short story is that processes that read / write sparse files with large "holes" can generate an IO storm. Oddly, this only happens with holes and not with the sections of the files that contain data. We have seen extremely high IO load for
