Rgui crashed on Windows XP Home
Hi there, I just installed R 2.11.1 on my PC, which runs a Windows XP Home. The installation is successful, however, when I double click on the R icon, I get the following error message: R for Windows GUI front-end has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Error signature is: AppName: rgui.exe AppVer: 2.111.52157.0 ModName: msvcrt.dll ModVer:

text() with invalid argument type crashes RGui.exe
Dear Rexperts: (R 2.0.1 on Windows XP Pro) Is the following problem unique to my setup? If it's a known problem, I didn't see it at http://bugs.r-project.org/ nor find discussion in the archives. plot(1:10) loc <- c(5, 6) text(loc, labels = "a") Produces expected results according to ?xy.coords. plot(1:10) loc <- list(x = 5, y = 6) text(loc, labels = "a") No

Rgui front-end has encountered a problem and needs to close
Well I don't know if anyone can help with this but it will be interesting to know if others have had the same problem. I can't start R at home on my laptop [ I'm using 1.8.1 under Windows XP]. When I click on the shortcut I get the usual Windows box for when an application needs to close. A couple of clicks down it displays the following: Error signature AppName: rgui.exe

Failing lm-tests due to extra 0 in scientific notation?
Hello. I've compiled R on Windows many times, and this is the first time I've seen this error. While running make check-all (and using testInstalledBasic("both")), the lm-tests routines fail, and, as far as I can tell, the diff is failing because in one file, answers are coming back like this "3.11e-004" while in the save file they are "3.11e-04". R-3.0.1 - "transient" make check failure in splines-EX.r
Hello. I seem to be having the same problem that Paul had in the thread titled "[Rd] R 2.15.2 make check failure on 32-bit --with-blas="-lgoto2"" from October of last year <https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2012-October/065103.html> Unfortunately, that thread ended without an answer to his last question. Briefly, I am trying to compile an Rblas for Windows NT 32bit

Binaries of R.12.0 for Windows: where are RGUI and Rterm ?
Dear all, I've just downloaded R.12.0 from CRAN (http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/release.htm). I am unable to find RGUI.exe as well as Rterm.exe. Conversely to what is explained in readme.R.2.12.0: There are two versions of the R executable in R-2.12.0\bin\i386 (32-bit) or R-2.12.0\bin\x64 (64-bit). I can't find directories i386 or x64 in R-2.12.0\bin -- Renaud Lancelot EDEN

Bug in TAB handling for Win32 rTerm and rGUI in 2.5.1?

Before I start, i want to first extend thanks for the big improvements in integration of command completion for the windows version. Really nice to have now. But i believe there are some issues. Rprofile: distinguish between Rgui, Rterm, JGR?
[Environment: Win XP, R 2.10.1] In my Rprofile I have startup code to do various things, intended for when I use the Rgui console. Some of these are causing problems in JGR now that I've installed it. How can I test for R running with Rgui to do some of these things only there? -- Michael Friendly Email: friendly AT yorku DOT ca Professor, Psychology Dept. York University

Sweave output encoding in R-2.10.0beta on Windows (Rgui <-> Rterm)
Dear developers, I have come across a (somewhat strange) change in the encoding of Sweave output from R-2.9.2pat to R-2.10.0beta (apparently specific to Rgui) on Windows installations. Of course, the NEWS file contains quite a few changes concerning encoding, but I was not able to locate an entry which explains the observed behaviour. I am not very familiar with encodings/locales/codepages,

R Compilation gets stuck on Windows 64
Hi Avraham, What a coincidence, I have been following this post of yours: https://www.avrahamadler.com/2013/10/24/an-openblas-based-rblas-for-windows-64-step-by-step/ Looks like this post is slightly older than what you have shared previously. It is strange that you did not get the attachments. I am pasting the contents of the MkRules.local here:
