Run script at startup
Hello, I just install the newest version of Centos 7 and I am a bit disappointed with new /etc/rc/local file I found that it's not usable anymore. *[root at lab3 ~]# cat /etc/rc.local* " THIS FILE IS ADDED FOR COMPATIBILITY PURPOSES" It is highly advisable to create own systemd services or udev rules to run scripts during boot instead of using this file. I want to give them address like 172.17.17.21/logs and they will be able to watch logs of Apache in browser. I was looking a lot for something like this, but didn't find.

Buffalo Terastation with 3.0.23d PDC and LDAP backend?
I have my system properly running as a PDC now, but I'm having trouble getting one of the machines here to join the domain. This system is a Buffalo Terastation Pro. For this system I have to create the machine trust account manually. The domain access fails as follows: [2007/03/06 17:51:44, 2] lib/smbldap.c:smbldap_open_connection(788) smbldap_open_connection: connection opened

Fwd: Re: Problem with Samba - Openldap and domain autentication of Windows XP
Wait, you are using samba with openldap backend. Why are you using useradd ??? with this backend you need smbldap instead. like this: passdb backend = ldapsam:ldap://your ldap server ldap passwd sync = yes ldap delete dn = Yes ldap admin dn = cn=root,dc=domain,dc=com,dc=br ldap suffix = dc=domain,dc=com,dc=br ldap machine suffix =

Problem while log on: Windows Server 2008 R2 in samba domain
Hi, I have a strange problem with a Windows Server 2008 R2-System as a member of a samba domain (Samba-Version on PDC: 3.4.12). Join was successfully, but when I log on Windows I got an error "Unknown user name or bad password." (Event ID 4625). Here an abstract of logfile for Windows Server 2008 R2-System (log level 10). Maybe some of you has an idea:

can't contact domain
Hello everyone, Once again I'm trying to set up our Samba server to operate as a PDC, now that I've verified that I have a clean install of the Samba 3 software. However there are some difficulties with this. On my client machine when I try to set the domain name in the system control panel, I get an error message saying that the domain could not be contacted. I've set up my

winbind authentification trouble
A Debian/Lenny-Server is connected to a PDC (using samba) and tries to authenticate logins via pam_winbind. User mapping and everything else needed works fine (i.e. especially getent shows all the accounts), however remote logins of domain users fail. I have: | gatekeeper:~# cat /etc/pam.d/common-auth | [...] | auth sufficient pam_unix.so nullok_secure | auth required

Can one user use the same credentials to log into multiple domains, and how do I do it?
First, our current setup. I'm setting up a Samba 3.4 environment to replace our old Samba 3.0.x setup and make ready for Windows 7. There are several different campus locations, and each has it's own Samba PDC. Due to some (possibly poor) decisions made early in the development of the system, instead of giving each campus its own domain name, we used the algorithmic rid base parameter in

Incorrect domain SID when creating new users
Hi, I created a new user on our Samba domain master yesterday but the user was unable to login from WinXP to the domain. I think they got an error that a device connected to the system wasn't working. The user was created using smbldap-useradd. The logs showed this for the user workstation: _netr_LogonSamLogon: user FOO\efields has user sid S-1-5-21-908662176-1457135431-1537874043-3288
