Shutdowns occuring without power outage.
I am running an older version of nut (2.0.2) on a FreeBSD 4.11 machine. This
has been running fine for many months until the last few weeks. It seems that
several times a week the machine is shutting itself down. Looking at the log
files I notice these lines which lead me to think there is something wrong
with the serial communication betwen my host and the Ellipse 600 UPS.

Painter Essential 2 (wacom bundle)
I bought a wacom, and with it comes this Corel Painter Essentials 2.
installation went fine with wine, but when I try to run the program, I get
error message.
I'm running Debian Testing, and wine installed via apt.
wine version is "20041201-1"

I?ve got it loaded OK and can access the data by the catalogue() command -
gives me a tibble with names, grid refs etc
allStations <- catalogue()

This works OK
But when I try to run the example

grid layout scaling viewport width based solely on height
Hello all,
I'm trying to write a function that produces a main plotting region
with several square plots along the right side. Ideally the size of
right side plots will scale only with the height of the entire plot,
yet never overlap with another secondary plot. The following two
snippets get close, however, as I resize the plot horizontally the
right side plots (green squares) get smaller

Error message in dredge function (MuMIn package) with binary GLM
Hi all,
My replies within the forum aren't getting approved, though my emails
always go through, so here is my reply to a question I previously
posted (all questions and answers shown). Thanks, Cat

Difference between stats.steps() and MuMIn.dredge() to select best fit model
Hello,
I try to understand the different approaches how to select the best fit
regression model.
This is not about AIC, BIC, etc. It is about the difference between the
steps() function
(in stats package) and the dredge() function (in MuMIn) package.
I see several examples on the internet.
step() explore the model space with a step wise approach.
And dredge() try out all possible combinations

Package MuMIn (dredge): Error in ret[, ] <- cbind(x, se, rep(if (is.null(df)) NA_real_ else df, : number of items to replace is not a multiple of replacement length.
Hello R community,
I am attempting to run multiple logistic regressions (multinomial, via
package 'nnet'), with Automated Model Selection (dredge, package 'MuMIn').
The aim is to reduce the number of predictor variables by assessing relative
performance of each variable, which can be done in a coarse fashion using
the Automated Model Selection option in package 'MuMIn'

Error running MuMIn dredge function using glmer models
Dear list,
I am trying to use MuMIn to compare all possible mixed models using the dredge function on binomial data but I am getting an error message that I cannot decode. This error only occurs when I use glmer. When I use an lmer analysis on a different response variable every works great.
Example using a simplified glmer model

mod<- glmer(cbind(st$X2.REP.LIVE,

R does not subset
Hi everyone,
I know there have been several requests regarding subsetting before, but
none of them really helps with my problem:

prediction intervals (alpha and beta) for model average estimates from binomial glm and model.avg (library=dRedging)
Hi all,
I was wondering if there is a function out there, or someone has written code for making confidence intervals around model averaged predictions (y~á+âx). The model average estimates are from the dRedging library?
It seems a common thing but I can't seem to find one via the search engines
Examples of the models are:
fit1 <- glm(y~ dbh, family = binomial, data = data)

R's Data Dredging Philosophy for Distribution Fitting
Forum,
I'm a grad student in Civil Eng, took some Stats classes that required
students learn R, and I have since taken to R and use it for as much as I
can. Back in my lab/office, many of my fellow grad students still use
proprietary software at the behest of advisers who are familiar with the
recommended software (Statistica, @Risk (Excel Add-on), etc). I have spent
a lot of time learning

complicated finds are eating my sole
I abandoned ruby way for find_by_sql and still can''t get this...
@myplacement = Placement.find_by_sql(
"select * from placement where
:intake_date >= beg_intake_date
and
:intake_date <= end_intake_date")
just a simple date range...it''s killing me - If I knew how to load
placement controller into irb, I could probably try out finds
interactive mode...
Thanks

default gateway outside of the LAN
Hello all,
We have a somewhat unique setup whereby our default router is outside of
the local network.
Let us say our network is 192.168.10.0/255.255.255.0
So we have a route-eth0 file that looks something like this:
10.1.1.1 via 192.168.10.1 dev eth0
default 10.1.1.1 dev eth0
The last definition would simply not take - but it has to for the setup to
work. And no, 192.168.10.1 does not

code review: is it too much to ask?
Hello all,
I really appreciate how helpful the people in this list are. Would it be too much to ask to send a small script to have it peer-reviewed? to make sure I am not making blatant mistakes? The script takes an experiment.dat as input and generates system Throughput using ggplot2. It works now ... [sigh] but I have this nasty feeling that I might be doing something wrong :). Changing
