[PATCH 1/2] Check before trying a solid fill
Pre-nv50 has all sorts of funny requirements for non-copy alu operations, and will bail out of solid fills left and right. Account for that case and fall back to the memset. [Patches][nouveau/ddx]: Improvements to bufferswap implementation and timestamping
Hi, here a set of patches against the nouveau-ddx. This is an extended and revised set, based on Francisco Jerez feedback from autumn last year. [1/9] Makes pageflipping work again on X-Server 1.12rc. It apparently stopped working somewhere around Xorg 1.11+. [2/9] Implements handling of pageflip completion events from the kernel. Francisco Jerez argument against including it was that the

[PATCH] nv: improve KMS detection
1) DRICreatePCIBusID belongs to xserver dri module, so when it's unavailable we can't format string for drmCheckModesettingSupported. (This situation happened to me with KMS enabled and dri module moved somewhere else by Gentoo's "eselect opengl set nvidia" switcher) Open code DRICreatePCIBusID to drop dri dependency. 2) Once we dropped dependency on dri module

[PATCH 1/2] drmmode: fix screen resize without acceleration
This got broken with commit 86024cee back in 2014! drmmode_pixmap/nouveau_pixmap expect there to be EXA wrapping around the pixmap now, which is not there without accel. [PATCH ddx] Add support for VRAM-less devices to the ddx
With this patch the DDX almost works with GK20A, the missing piece is adding COHERENT mappings to the right places. ;-) If you specify NOUVEAU_BO_APER the kernel will truncate valid_domains to the domains specified at creation time. This means that as long as we only specify the correct domain in nouveau_allocate_surface the effect is still the same. Signed-off-by: Maarten Lankhorst <dev at

[PATCH xf86-video-nouveau] Properly cleanup fb for reverse-prime-offload
drmmode_set_scanout_pixmap(pix) adds drmmod->fb_id through a call to drmmode_xf86crtc_resize(), but on a subsequent drmmode_set_scanout_pixmap(NULL) it would not remove the fb. This keeps the crtc marked as busy, which causes the dgpu to not being able to runtime suspend, after an output attached to the dgpu has been used once. Which causes burning through an additional 10W of power and the

[PATCH] fix a wrong use of a logical operator in drmmode_output_dpms()

[PATCH] nouveau: put cursor BO in GART
Keeping it in VRAM wastes CPU time, because cursor_set ioctl reads handed BO back to RAM, just to write it to actual cursor BO. Here (nv92/core i7), this patch decreases overall cpu usage of drmmode_load_cursor_argb from 4.6ms to ~90us and lets nv50_crtc_cursor_set disappear from perf traces. --- I considered accelerating kernel-side copying with GPU, but it turns out that: - it's slower

[PATCH 0/4] nouveau: xserver 1.13 compat fixes
Here are a few patches adding some missing functions in NvPlatformProbe, which iirc is being used as of xserver 1.13 First patch adds a nouveau_kernel_mode_enabled helper, similar to xf86-video-radeon Second and third use the function in Nv{Pci,Platform}Probe And last one ensures we can still use ZaphodHead and relative head positioning via xorg.conf The coding style may be a bit off, despite my

[error] xf86-video-nouveau on OpenBSD
Hi, I'm trying to compile nouveau on OpenBSD, but I always get an error message. I have already compiled libdrm like this : echo "/usr/X11R6/share/aclocal" >> /usr/local/share/aclocal/dirlist ./configure --enable-nouveau-experimental-api make make install There wasn't any problem. Then, I try to compile xf86-video-nouveau with : ./configure make But I get this error

[PATCH xf86-video-nouveau] Do not register hotplug without RandR
When using Xinerama, RandR is automatically disabled, and calling RR routines will trigger an assert() because the RR keys/resources are not set, leading to an Xserver abort. Hotplug makes little sense without RandR, so no need to install a udev monitor if RandR is not available.
