How to call DBLEPR in Fortran code to be used by R
Hi I've built a dll using Fortran code and can call it by either R or Fortran. Calling by the former gives me the wrong answer and the later gives the correct answer. From what I've read, it looks like I should use the subroutines DBLEPR, INTPR and REALPR to get values to show up in R which I hope will allow me to find the error. I've downloaded the R-2.12.0.tar.gz but have

Fortran subroutines dblepr, realpr, intpr
I am making my first attempts at using some Fortran code with R, and so far it's going OK. To print from my Fortran programs, it seems I need subroutines dblepr, realpr and intpr. From the excellent "Writing R Extensions" document: "Three subroutines are provided to ease the output of information from FORTRAN code. subroutine dblepr(label, nchar, data, ndata)

(not) compiling fortran -- dynamic loading problem
Hi, everyone. This may be properly a fortran question rather than an R question. I'm trying to add a few print statements to otherwise working fortran code in one of the libraries so I can see what's going on in the code. I have no problem doing so on an SGI machine, but under LinuxPPC I've run into a problem. The code compiles and creates a shared object (.so), but when I issue

'Boolean Index too long'
#Hi, I am trying to run an MRPP with community data (spp-site-matrix). I use the following code: mzbtaxa_mrpp <- mrpp(mzbdist, mzbsites$Site) #mzbdist being a distance object (Bray-Curtis similarity matrix) derived from my sqrt transformed community data set, created with function 'vegdist', mzbsites$Site refers to factors structuring my community. #when I run this code, I get the

blocked MRPP and ISA
I have been trying to find a way to do a blocked MRPP (MRBP) and blocked ISA in R but have not found anything (in fact I found some things that say it is not possible). Does anyone know of a package, or written a script, that can do either of these? Thank you for any help.

vegan moved to GitHub and vegan 2.2-0 is coming (are you ready?)
Dear vegan team, Vegan development happens now completely in github. R-Forge repository is no more in sync with github. I tried to commit all github changes to R-Forge, but a week ago I got a conflict in file and I haven't had time to resolve that conflict. You can follow vegan development and vegan discussion also without signing to github. The system seems to be completely open and does not

Changing options in R CMD SHLIB
Dear, When trying to use directive OpenMP in my code, I observed that the directive ones were being considered as commentaries. Compiling with command R CMD SHLIB xxx.f95 - fopenmp and calling the function in the R verified that threads was not being considered. I was to observe the options of the compiler R CMD SHLIB --help Usage: R CMD SHLIB [options] files | linker options Build a shared

R package with Fortran module on Windows? undefined reference to `__stack_chk_fail'
Hi, I created a R library that uses a Fortran module. Everything works like a charm on linux. Now I'm trying to make it work on Windows. I cloned my git repository <https://github.com/ignacio82/MyPi> on a windows computer, and when I press the build and reload button on Rstudio I get these errors: ==> Rcmd.exe INSTALL --no-multiarch --with-keep.source MyPi * installing to library

Set the number of threads using openmp with .Fortran?
Hi everybody, I'm trying to develop an R package with Fortran and OpenMP. I wrote a simple hello world but I'm not able to set the number of threads. I found this old email chain <http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/Set-the-number-of-threads-using-openmp-with-C-td2284685.html> and I tried to set my compile instructions accordingly but i had no luck. *This is my makevars:*

Problems with 64bit dll compile in R-2.15.0
I built my package under the R version 2.14.1 on windows without any problems by first checking for issues using R CMD check (no warnings) and then R CMD build to build the tar.gz. I can install this on version 2.14.1 using install.packages(...). I next tested to see if I could also install on version 2.15.0 (also on my computer) using install.packages() with the version 2.14.1 tar.gz this

Estimate "between-axes" vs "within-axes heterogeneity of multivariate matrices
Hi! My question(s) in the end might be silly but I am no expert on this, so here it goes: Noy-Meir (1973), Pielou (1984) and a few others have pointed to non-centered PCA being in some cases useful. They clearly explain that "it is the case" when multi-dimensional data display distinct clusters (which have zero, or near-zero, projections in some subset of the axes) and the task is

Conerned about Interfacing R with Fortran
I am reading the manual sections illustrating how to call a Fortran subroutine from R. I feel uneasy at the explicit statement about ".Fortran" interface working with Fortran 77. I would like to call a Fortran-90 subroutine from my R script. Is that supported at all ? Thank you, Maura tutti i telefonini TIM! [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Set the number of threads using openmp with .Fortran?
I got this to work on Linux but it is not working on Windows. *My understanding is that this should also work on windows, is that correct?* If so, what should I do? differently? To get it to work on Linux, I modified my R script as follows: #' OpenMP Hello World #' #' @param nthreads The number of threads that you want to use #' @example #' hello(nthreads=2) #' @export

Permutation test, grouped data
I am perfectly aware that this question is not an R question, at least not yet, but I have not succeeded in finding what I want in other ways, so ... What I am looking for are two algorithms, preferabley in Pascal, but other languages may do. For (a) systematic (complete) permutations for grouped data with unequal group sizes, and (b) random permutations for the same kind of data. I know

test comparing spatial point patterns?
I'm working with animal relocation data. These are x-y coordinates of radio-collared coyotes over a period of time. Relocations are far enough apart in time to be considered independent. We want to test if the pattern of space-use has changed from one year to the next. Relocations roughly follow a 2D Gaussian distribution, but points are often clustered near one or more
