R 2.13.0-beta for Windows, file.copy() throws suspicious errors due to default value of copy.mode
While checking packages against R 2.13.0-beta on Windows, I have run into a few strange error messages related to copying files. The errors all relate to file.copy() and have the form of: Error in Sys.chmod(to[okay], file.info(from[okay])$mode, TRUE) : 'mode' must be of length at least one After half a day of tinkering, the best reproducible example I can come up with involves using

tikzDevice not available
Hello people! I just formatted my disk, and I have installed R 2.14 over. Now I am trying to restore my packages and all. I realized that tikzDevice, a crucial package for me is gone. Fortunately, I have kept my old, non-zipped, tikzDevice folder, but none of the commands I know seems to handle this [i.e. load() and install.packages()]. Thus the formulation is like this: how to install a

Development environment for R extentions on Windows
Hi all, I'm setting up a development environment on Windows as the subject implies. I've downloaded and installed Rtools211.exe (will upgrade later when necessary) and I've also downloaded and installed mingw with the help of mingw-get.exe. I come from a UNIX development background, so I'm at the bash shell prompt for just about every step in R extenstion development. Question is

Cannot Build R From Source - Windows XP
Hi, I can't seem to install R from source. I've downloaded the latest Rtools211.exe from http://www.murdoch-sutherland.com/Rtools/ & done a full installation of that and Inno Setup. I have set R_HOME as C:\R (and also tried using C:\R\R-2.11.1) After successfully running 'tar xf R-2.11.1.tar.gz' the modifications I have made and saved as MkRules.local are: BUILD_HTML =

Package build and install under Windows
Any other method besides using RTOOLS? I am using R 2.10.1, which version of Rtools should I use? It seems that there are two versions on the website. The commands like R CMD build should be used in the CMD window, right? Thanks. -- View this message in context: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/Package-build-and-install-under-Windows-tp2539509p2539509.html Sent from the R help mailing list archive

Incorrect positioning of raster images on Windows
I am working on dumping raster data from R into PNG files using rasterImage(). I am working with a test matrix from the rasterImage() example and using it to produce a PNG image with the following code: # From the example for rasterImage(). A 3 pixel by 5 pixel b/w checkerboard. testImage <- as.raster(0:1, nrow=3, ncol=5) testImage [,1] [,2] [,3] [,4] [,5] [1,]

Inconsistencies in device_Raster when axes are reflected
I noticed some undocumented and inconsistent behavior in device_Raster when a plot is produced with reflected axes such as: image(volcano, xlim = c(1,0), useRaster = TRUE) image(volcano, ylim = c(1,0), useRaster = TRUE) The `pdf` device will perform horizontal and vertical reflections, while `quartz` will ignore the transformations when plotting to the screen, but when plotting to a

Graphics device hook to manipulate plotmath
Is there a hook that allows a graphics device to apply transformations to plotmath expressions *before* they are rendered? If there isn't one yet, would it be feasible to add one? The motivation for this hook is graphic devices that feed into something that already has support for math layout, such as the tikzDevice package (which has TeX downstream). Given text(x, y,

add jsslogo.jpg to R sources?
Hi R-core, I was wondering if somebody could please add jsslogo.jpg to the R sources? (as I reported yesterday in this bug) https://bugs.r-project.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=17687 R already includes jss.cls which is the document class file for Journal of Statistical Software. Actually, for the jss.cls file to be useful, it also requires jsslogo.jpg in order to compile JSS articles without
