There are a large number of analysis, including alias analysis, and optimizations that use GetUnderlyingObject, and related routines to search back through GEPs. They only do this up to some small finite depth (six, IIRC). So reducing the GEP depth is likely the right solution for InstCombine (which has the

My attempt to get R running in Windows 3.11 didn't go very far. I have read the FAQ and install.tex carefully. What am I missing? Here is the step: 1. requirements for a GPL
Can I get some advice on what is required to claim a GPL for a package? A package I maintain (pcurve) uses some S code from statlib. I have an email from the author of the S code saying that he would be happy to issue a GPL for the code. Is the email from the author enough, or do I need something more formal? detach(package:base) kills R (PR#1271)

Hi, is there any way to exchange (A LOT OF) data between SPPS and R/Splus, i.e., I want to get data from SPSS into R. It is a huge data frame with many columns being factors, so manual conversion is out of question (and there are more data to come).
