Compiz not working properly using nvidia twinview
Hi, I am running ubuntu 7.10 gutsy, and I have compiz working on one monitor ( a bit slow though ). When I add twinview to the mix compiz still comes up, and sort of works but: 1. I loose the background and it is replace by all white 2. The second monitor draws about 30% of the new white background, then it ends with a bit of a shadow, and then it continues with black 3.

Compiz with --use-copy --force-fglrx
Hi, I was happy to see the "use copy" and "force fglrx" patches, thanks to them I was able to get compiz running om my Thinkpad R60 (that has a Mobile Radeon X1400 card). However I can see some drawing garbage on the screen sometimes. The easiest way to reproduce it is to open firefox and point it to http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/compiz/2007-July/thread.html Then grab

Package install error: _intel_fast_memcpy
Hi, I am trying to install the "ncdf" package on my Ubuntu 8.04 (Karmic) box in the basement. I have installed the most recent distribution of R, 2.12.0 without too many problems. However, when it comes to install the "ncdf" netcdf package, I unfortunately get the following error: Error in dyn.load(file, DLLpath = DLLpath, ...) : unable to load shared object

screen doesn't handle redrawing properly (PR#837)
Hi. As far as I understand it, there is a list of graphic primitives stored for a device. So for example, when I iconify/deiconify an X11 window, the plot will be redrawn. Now screen (split.screen and friends) appear not to handle this list properly, the list is reset or not reset at odd times. The commands below will show clearly what I mean. There are two effects: - After splitting the

Activating html help in R 2.10
After reading the news about the release of R 2.10 I expected that typing for example ?cut would automatically open a web browser. But I don't see any difference in how help is displayed under Ubuntu Linux (karmic). How does one activate the new dynamic html help? Thanks Frank platform x86_64-pc-linux-gnu arch x86_64 os linux-gnu system x86_64,

Dissappearing gnome terminal contents
Hi. I was not able to find any notice of this issue in either the forums or bugzilla (http://bugs.opencompositing.org/) (is that still used btw) so I am posting it here in the hope that it is useful to someone. I am using gentoo and gnome 2.20 and the compiz version from git sources. When I maximize (vertically, horizontally, both) a gnome-terminal window the contents of the terminal window

errors when installing packages (ubuntu)
Hi List, I'm having problems installing certain packages. When I try to install fields, I get the output below. I have highlighted the what I perceive as the first error (spam seems to be a dependency of fields). Can I assume this is causing dependency problems for fields, which fails to install at the end, or is there a deeper problem? I run Ubuntu Karmic Koala on R 2.9.2. 2>

[PATCH] add 'sticky' mode to cube to allow sticky+not-on-bottom windows to stick to the screen when the screen is transformed
I've attached the patch since I don't yet have an easy way to make git format-patch and kmail play nice together. The basic idea is during a rotate/other cube transform, 'sticky' windows stick to the screen instead of being redrawn once per face (its an option, the default is the old behaviour) Consider this, please, essentially an RFC - this particular behaviour was

PR#14099
The notes asked why an Ubuntu/Compiz problem is being reported on R-bugs. Answer: because the fact that no other application exhibits these redrawing problems seems to indicate that R is to blame, not Compiz. Furthermore, the data editor is not drawn properly with Metacity either (some row names missing until cursor is moved). Should I make a new bug report that does not mention Compiz?

can't run DirectX applications properly - window garbled
Hello, I have searched, read and tried everything I can think of, but without success. So I really need some help here. The application I am currently trying to use is PixPlant, but I have the same problems with other apps using directx or opengl (I am totally confused now) to display some content. PixPlant is a program for generating textures. It has an area in its main window where it displays

compiz without a desktop window
Running compiz without a desktop window has some unexpected behavior. It is not possible to grab the cube with the mouse. The pointer needs to be over a window for it to work. In display.c the XSelectInput call in addDisplay is missing ButtonPressMask and ButtonReleaseMask, so it makes sense why this doesn't work. Is there a reason why they have been left out? Lower window with Button2 on

compiz plugins and window types
Hi All, First off, I've just started using compiz and its fantastic... I'm using compiz with KDE (on FC6), all is OK apart from one small niggle which is when I use the scale or switcher plugins it includes my kicker windows (the desktop panels) in the list, which isn't so pretty. I don't know much about gconf, but poking around in the settings for compiz and found that these

Why doesn't compiz honor special window settings?
Listmates, I have a problem with compiz not honoring the special window settings in kde for xterm. In kde, I have the position and size of the xterm window set to a usable default. In KDE, the window opens to the proper size and location. In compiz, it is about 1/2 the size and never opens where it is set to open. Is there a way to have compiz read the default window settings for xterm?

compiz-fusion-kde-0.6.2-3.1 Window Decoration Crash?
Guys, SuSE 10.3, compiz-fusion-kde-0.6.2-3.1, fglrxG01-8.43.3-0.1, xorg 7.2. I just experienced a complete window decoration crash where all window decorations disappeared. kwin --replace followed by a emerald --replace cured the problem. This is the first crash since installing 6.2-3.1 about 12 hours ago. Is there anything helpful I can post that might identify the cause of the problem? --

Compiz window manager?
Has anyone here tried the Compiz window manager under CentOS 5? I just thought I might give it a go, but when I executed "compiz --replace", I got a segfault. This was using the version from the CentOS yum repositories, and logged in to the GNOME desktop. My graphics driver is the proprietary one from NVIDIA. I tried adding Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals"
