problem with nls()
I wanted to use the nls() module to solve a Problem from Sen & Srivastava
(1990, p.209). Here is the (basic) code used to perform the estimation:

Error in 1:p : NA/NaN argument when running model comparisons
Hi there,
I am trying to compare nonlinear least squares regression with AIC and anova. The simplest model is one nonlinear curve, and in the more complex model I have a categorical variable (producing parameter estimates for four curves).
Both models run fine, but when I try to produce an AIC value for the second model I get the error:

Weighted least squares
Hi everyone,
I admit I am a bit of an R novice, and I was hoping someone could help me
with this error message:

I want to add a band of fluctuaci?n (exponential decreading) to a linear
deacrecing values
Imagine: I have a matrix like c(10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1)
The thing is I want two new lines so that the m?ximum value of the new
colum on the m?ximum is from 10% to 5% higher and the same lower for the
m?nimum
the final two matix will be something like
c(10+0.10*10,9+0.089*9,8+0.075*8.....,1+0.05*1)

offset with a factor
Knowledgeable useRs,
Please, advise how to use offset with a factor. I estimate monthly effects from a much bigger data set as monthly effects seem to be stable, and other variables are estimated from a small, but recent data set as there is variation in those non-seasonal coefficients.
How can I use the seasonality estimates from the big data set as an offset provided to the small data set. I

Big thanks. newXMLNode works great. Wonder why it is not included in the documentation.
There is newXMLDoc and newXMLNamespace, but no mention of newXMLNode.

using weights in lm()
Hello!
When I know the vector of the variance of the disturbances (i.e. the
structure of heteroskedasticity), say Var(u_{i})=v_{i},
what is the weights I should use as argument to lm():
M <- lm(y~x,weigths=1/v)
or
M <- lm(y~x,weights=1/(v^0.5)) ???
In the help pages I did not find a clear answer to this question, so
please could someone help me!

problem with weights on lmer function

I try to make a model using lmer, but the weigths is not accept.
m1<-lmer(ocup/total~tempo+(tempo|estacao),family=binomial,weights=total)
Erro em lmer(ocup/total ~ tempo + (tempo | estacao), family = binomial, :
object `weights' of incorrect type
I dont understand why this error, with glm this work. the total object is a
vector.

The newXMLNode function is not mentioned in:

which supposedly describes all functions in the package.

the above is Netezza syntax, but Postgre has same capability.

NNET re-building the model
Hello,
I've been working with "nnet" and now I'd like to use the weigths, from
the fitted model, to iterpret some of variables impornatce.
I used the following command:
mts <- nnet(y=Y,x=X,size =4, rang = 0.1,
decay = 5e-4, maxit = 5000,linout=TRUE)
X is (m x n) Y is (m x 1)
And then I get the coeficients by:
Wts<-coef(mts)
b->h1 i1->h1

This issue does not exist on Linux. My Ubuntu updates both R and all packages.

I want to plot an upper line wich is 10% higher tan resultc on the first
