R strings from C
Hi, I am trying to study R internal behaviour. So long, I have not succeeded to access the value of R strings from C. I use: void salvesta_tabel( SEXP data_frame, SEXP file ) { printf( "nimi %d\n", (R_CHAR)( file)); } and from the R side: salvesta.tabel <- function (x, file = "") { .Call( "salvesta_tabel", x, file) } When calling

another fix for R crashes under enable-strict-barrier, lto, trunk@72156
On 2nd thought, I think a better fix to the segfault is something like this: --- a/src/main/memory.c +++ b/src/main/memory.c @@ -3444,6 +3444,8 @@ R_xlen_t (XTRUELENGTH)(SEXP x) { return XTRUELENGTH(CHK2(x)); } int (IS_LONG_VEC)(SEXP x) { return IS_LONG_VEC(CHK2(x)); } const char *(R_CHAR)(SEXP x) { + if(!x) + error("de-referncing null. Check the validity of your data.");

another fix for R crashes under enable-strict-barrier, lto, trunk@72156
I haven' t touched R for some 18 months, and so I have no idea if this is a recent problems or not; but it certainly did not segfault two years ago. Since it has been crashing (segfault) under 'make check-all' for over a month, I reckon I'll have to look at it myself, to have it fixed. I have been having the ' --enable-memory-profiling --enable-strict-barrier

R CMD check, interfacing c++ linking errors
Hi there, I am trying to interface c++ code in R and make a package. With R CMD SHLIB the dll was created, but when I try R CMD check, I am getting 'undefined reference to..' linkage error messages. The relevant c++ source from conf-infomap.cpp: #include "conf-infomap.h" #include "R.h" // R functions #include "Rinternals.h" #include "Rmath.h" //

Hello everyone, I've just attempted to build R-1.4 on Compaq Tru64 (I'll enclose the text from bug.report() from R-1.3.1 at the end.) The relevant part of the log is below. Samba 3.5.7-3.5.1-2573 not able to shutdown old processes which results in locked files
Dear Samba users, Samba tries to close old connections on a new session setup from the same machine, but fails. Those connections result in locked files which the users can't access - i.e. save or open. I have to kill them via "kill -9 pid". smb.conf: http://pastebin.com/bYRFJwu0 smb.inc: http://pastebin.com/JV9KyDyA Using "reset on zero vc = yes" seems to reduce the

[BioC] RCurl loading problem with 64 bit linux distribution
Martin, Well, thanks for jumping in! We need all the help we can get ;) I changed the execute bit as you suggested and recompiled, no luck, still the same error message. Below is the output you wanted me to look at, its a bit beyond me so I include both a brief grep summary and then the whole enchilada. I do note that my output is different from yours, but I'm not sure how to interpret. I

Build R on Haiku
Hi R-devel, I'm trying to get R 3.2.1 working on Haiku (an open source OS inspired by BeOS, not Linux based) on i586. With a few small changes to library paths and ifdefs I am able to get a seemingly working R binary. The build process stops with the 'tools' package. The last lines from make are below. Does anyone have any tips? I'm rather new to debugging at this low level. Are
