How do I get my mail from fetchmail into dovecot?
I have dovecot (with squirrel mail etc.) running without any problems but cannot understand how to get e-mail from a pop server into dovecot. I have fetchmail configured to pick up the mail from the pop3 server but don't understand how to get it from there into my dovecot mbox structure. New to mail servers! Thanks, Michael.

too many open files....??
Hi all, I''m fighting with an error message right now, that I don''t understand: puppetmasterd[16269]: Could not write report for steinbeck.tnr.dk at /var/lib/puppet/reports/steinbeck.tnr.dk/200801311728.yaml: Too many open files But an output from lsof states that there is only ~5500 files open - not reaching any max I know of. Anyone else experiencing this...? -- Med

Superimposing vector polygons over raster grid in a plot
Hello: I would like to superimpose vector polygons (state outlines) from a Shape file on top of a satellite image, imported into a SpatialGridDataFrame from GEOTIFF via gdal_translate and readGDAL. When I plot polygon and point shape files in R, into SpatialPointDataFrame and SpatialPolygonDataFrame, the two feature sets line up geographically, so it seems logical that a SpatialGridDataFrame

OT: List of VoIP providers?
I have been looking around for VoIP providers but have not found a good listing. Is there no "yellow pages" for VoIP providers? Google mostly returns services like Vonage, Packet8, NuFone, ect. None seam to be very reseller friendly and none offer LNP or local DID's for my area. Anyone know of a list (even a partial one) Jeromie Reeves

Chan_cellphone and CentOS 4.x
I ran into a problem today while trying to compile chan_cellphone version 17 on a CentOS 4.4 machine. Apparently the bluez and autoconf versions were to old and as I tried to install the latest version, I found that the new bluez-lib would install and allow the chan_cellphone to compile, but bluez-utils required an update to D-sub which in turn required python 2.4 or better. That apparently in not

Problem installing tseries under FC7 x86_64
I have just installed the 64 bit version of R, using yum. The version is: 2.6.2-1.fc7.1.x86_64. I installed zoo without any major problem and the same with quadprog (a few warnings). However, when I came to install tseries I get the following: install.packages() Warning in install.packages() : argument 'lib' is missing: using

Validation on ActiveRecord destruction
Rails has many built in validation methods to ensure that an ActiveRecord instance cannot be created or updated under certain situations (typically caused by invalid data). However, I can find no methods to govern whether an ActiveRecord instance can be destroyed. Essentially, I wish an error to be raised when a user tries to delete an ActiveRecord without first adhering to a certain set of

comparing execition time: R vs matlab linear algebra...
Greetings: We are evaluating the performance of R matrix algebra es as we port a MATLAB R14 script into R. The MATLAB code basically evaluates the AX=B system on sparse matrices that result in output matrices of 100 to 1,000,000 rows/columns. Our R prototype script uses spase base matrices and the methods qr() and qr.coeff(). The following statements are called inside a doubly-nested loop: G

Include option type in gconf schema
I am writing a configuration front end for the compiz gconf plugin at the moment, but it's proving harder than it should be because gconf does not record what type of compiz option the key is. For example, say i want a color picker for each color option the only way I can tell with gconf if it is color is if it has a # at the beginning, but there could be string option which also have a # at

Plugin Dependencies
I'm continuing to work on compiz-settings now. The most common complaintat the moment is the way it activates plugins, a lot will fail to activate due to being loaded in the wrong order. At the moment It has a small db of known plugins and has load_before and load_after for each one, however if a plugin is unknown it will be loaded last and will fail to activate. I think it would be much

Sane value for Number of Desktops?
Would it be possible that the max restriction for the number_of_desktops option could be set to a sane value. At the moment it's set to a maximum of ~32,000. Realistically whose going to want 32,000 workspaces! It makes the option really hard to set in compiz-settings because slider increments are too big. I think it woulb be more sensible to set it to max 100 (probably less). -- Thanks Ben

Hardware question about Redfone's foneBridge
I am looking for input on wether the 4 port T-1 foneBridge is a useful device in a asterisk deployment. Would it be better to loadup a extra asterisk server to trunk the T-1's via IAX or is TDMoE safe in production enviroments. We are only looking at 2 T-1's, one for pstn and the other to a channel bank. Any advice? Bruce Reeves Nortex Networks -------------- next part -------------- An

args() function does not list function prototype for locally-produced/installed R package
Greetings: I have check the 'Building R Extensions' manual and can find no advice on this issue, so I am asking -- I have created an R package consisting entirely of R source code, and created an installer using the R CMD build / R CMD check commands. The package installs correctly, using R CMD install, and the .Rd files for each function (one function per .R / .Rd file) are visible
