Greetings, I am trying to call simple C-code from R. I am on Windows XP with RTools installed. Error in Rcpp/inline (Windows XP)
Hi, everyone, I am just trying to use Rcpp in my computer, and I would like to try a simple example from website, but R keeps reporting me error. I am using Windows XP, and has installed Rtools and GSI. Here is the response: > src = ' + Rcpp::NumericVector xa(a); + Rcpp::NumericVector xb(b); + int n_xa = xa.size(); + int n_xb = xb.size(); + + Rcpp::NumericVector xab(n_xa + n_xb - 1);

PKG_CFLAGS/CFLAGS and PKG_CXXFLAGS/CXXFLAGS
Why is it that R places CFLAGS after PKG_CFLAGS and not before when compiling a package (e.g. through R CMD build pkg)? This can be problematic if, for instance, you want to use -O3, but -O2 is in R_HOME/etc/Makeconf. If -O2 (in CFLAGS) appears after -O3 (in PKG_CFLAGS), you are left with what you didn't want: -O2. In R-exts, it says that "Flags which are set in file etc/Makeconf

Setting up a windows system for rcpp
I am running into a wall getting my system to work with rcpp and inline. Following Dirk's advice on stackoverflow, I hope someone is able to help me. My steps were to install MinGW 32 bit first, then installing Rtools, I disabled MinGW's entry in the PATH. I am trying to get the following code to work: library(Rcpp) library(inline) body <- ' NumericVector xx(x); return wrap(

How to install Tidyverse on Ubuntu 17.04? Getting gcc errors for -fstack-protector-strong and -Wdate-time
I'm running Ubuntu 17.04 and R 3.4.1. I installed the latter yesterday, so I presume it's the latest version. I want to install Tidyverse, which I've spent many happy hours with under Windows. But when I do install.packages("tidyverse") , I get errors about unrecognized command line options to gcc. These start when the install hits the colorspace and munsell packages.

Why is my R package still compiling with the O2 flag?
When I install an R package with cpp codes such as rrcov via CRAN (under R 3.1.1, using no Makevars file and under Ubuntu 14.04 using GCC 4.8), the cpp code is compiled with the -o3 flag (in fact, looking at the Makeconf file this seem to again be the default since R 3.1.1) But when I install my own package via CRAN it is compiled with the -o2 flag. My questions are what is causing my

MKL Acceleration encouraging; need adjust package builds?
Dear R-devel: The Cluster administrators at KU got enthusiastic about testing R-3.2.2 with Intel MKL when I asked for some BLAS integration. Below I forward a performance report, which is encouraging, and thought you would like to know the numbers. Appears to my untrained eye there are some extraordinary speedups on Cholesky decomposition, determinants, and matrix inversion. They had

I'm going to using RInside on windows enviroment. I installed all tools and packages according to Dirk's instruction. My R installation reside in d:\hli\programfiles\R-3.2.2. There's no problems with folders with spaces. The rtools is installed in d:\hli\programfiles\Rtools and MinGW in d: \hli\programfiles\MinGW. The R_HOME is set to d:\hli\programfiles\R-3.2.2. I

"Use of ā€˜.Cā€™ for C++ is now deprecated and will be removed in R 2.12.0"
Hi, I am writing a R package and having a bit of trouble to have the C++ code working. I was planing using the .C interface function, however I found the comment (Use of ?.C? for C++ is now deprecated and will be removed in R 2.12.0.) in the R-exts manual. So this interface function should not be used anymore - .Call() or Rcpp instead? What is the reason for the deprecation? Thanks, Florian

R-loadable dll with minGW-compiled linked library
I am trying to create a dynamic library (dll) for loading into R with dyn.load command. I am trying to use the library libdai (a machine learning C++ library) and boost (C++ libraries) in my main C++ program. While I am able to compile the main C++ file I am using successfully into a dll, there is a problem linking to libraries (libdai.a) and boost libraries. I only have instructions on how to

How can I catch errors thrown from c via the Rcpp error() function?
Hi I am using the flowClust package from BioConductor, which is largely implemented in c. For some of my data, the package occasionally (and quite stochastically) encounters a particular condition which halts its operation. At this point, it calls the error() function defined by Rcpp, and halts. What I would like to be able to do is to catch the error thrown, and retry the operation a few

compiling Rcpp with 3.0.1 on Solaris 10
Hello My colleagues asked me to install "R" with module "shiny". R version 3.0.1 compiled fine on Solaris 10 and is running well. I tried to install "shiny". With the dependencies "Rcpp" should be installed before. But the compile step did fail. See below. The initial error message is "Error in dyn.load(file, DLLpath = DLLpath, ...) :"
