add jsslogo.jpg to R sources?
Hi R-core, I was wondering if somebody could please add jsslogo.jpg to the R sources? (as I reported yesterday in this bug) https://bugs.r-project.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=17687 R already includes jss.cls which is the document class file for Journal of Statistical Software. Actually, for the jss.cls file to be useful, it also requires jsslogo.jpg in order to compile JSS articles without

Possible bug in 2.11.x texmf makefile.in and some related things...
Hi all, A list of some possible issues: 1. In R 2.11.x, in: http://svn.r-project.org/R/branches/R-2-11-branch/share/texmf/ there are two files, jss.cls and jss.bst (for JSS), which appear to be new since 2.10.x. These files are not installed when building/installing R. It would appear that they are not included in: https://svn.r-project.org/R/branches/R-2-11-branch/share/Makefile.in The

Suggesting patch to link DOIs against secure resolver
Dear Madams and Sirs, because the DOI foundation recommends a new, secure resolver [1], I wanted to suggest the attached patch. It a) updates a static DOI link in the docu, b) the code chunks that generate new ones, and c) a reg-ex that detects DOI links. Hopefully, my first venture into SVN & patch files was done correctly. My apologies, if there is anything amiss. In that case, I'll

Packages of snippets?
FWIW, I already include function 'snippets' in the gregmisc package (soon to be a package bundle). I would be happy to do this in a more public fashion. I generally require that the sumitter provide both the R code and a corresponding .Rd file. -Greg > -----Original Message----- > From: r-devel-bounces@stat.math.ethz.ch > [mailto:r-devel-bounces@stat.math.ethz.ch]On Behalf

R package BibTex entries: looking for a more general solution
== Summary == * Problem: BibTeX entries extracted from R packages via citation() require too much manual editing to be of general use. * Proposal: Date: fields should be made mandatory in package DESCRIPTION files, perhaps beginning with warnings from R CMD check * Proposal: Package authors should be encouraged to use a (new) Contributors: field in the DESCRIPTION file rather than packing all

Discrete valued time series data sets.
The "tscount" package (see http://doi.org/10.18637/jss.v082.i05) comes with several count data time series. Maybe this is the kind of discrete data you were interested in? hth, Z On Tue, 2 Jan 2018, Eric Berger wrote: > Hi Rolf, > I looked at > https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/sql-database/sql-database-public-data-sets > > One of the first sets in the list is

Proper way to typeset the symbol for R in LaTeX?
Hoping this is not off topic... I am in the process of writing some tutorials for my students for learning R, and naturally I'm using Sweave for this. So suddenly a question occurred to me: LaTeX has a recommended way of typesetting the TeX and LaTeX symbols, via the \TeX and \LaTeX commands. Is there a similar command for the R symbol, or in general are there any

AID / Tree Analysis in R
Dear Colleagues, I've been looking for a function that can perform a tree analysis, similar to CHAID or QUEST. The key point is that in this case the variables are not binary but nominal (10 different values), so "tree" (from the tree package) won't work. Does anybody know help? R CMD build and vignettes
Dear R-helpers, www.statistik.lmu.de/~*leisch*/*Sweave*/*Sweave*-Rnews-2003-2.pdf says that R CMD build creates the pdf from a .Rnw file. But when I do R CMD build followed by R CMD check it gives me a warning that there is a vignette without a PDF. My query is : when R CMD build works it creates a pdf in the doc subdirectory of the directory returned by system.file(package = mypackage) and not

slight documentation error in "stats" package "arima"
The documentation for the arima function in the package stats has a slight error. It references: Ripley, B. D. (2002) Time series in R 1.5.0. R News, 2/1, 2–7. warnings and errors with R CMD INSTALL
Hello, unfortunately I had to compile latest version of R-2.0.1 by myself. I'd rather would prefer vendors binaries but since the current version of Ubuntu defaults to 1.9.x I had to compile R on my own in order to be up to date! So far, everything went fine and R runs smoothly. Unfortunately I am not able to use R CMD INSTALL command to install add-on packages. I followed RNews 3/3 and

Problem with a submission to jss
Hi the list, I am about to submit an article describing an R package to the Journal of Statistical Software but I encounter a strange behavior of LaTeX: the numbering of the figure is correct (1. 2. 3. ...), but when I make a reference to a figure, the section (or the subsection) number appears instead of the figure number. I check if this behavior occurs with the file example provide in the
