Zaptel / TDM400P card stopped working
Hi I have a Dell PE2300 with a Digium TDM400P line card in it (with one module to handle an inbound phone line). This is running on a Fedora 8 system with Asterisk 1.4.21.2-1.fc8 This system has been working nicely for about 12 months. After a recent move of office and relocation of the server Asterisk is back on line, but the TDM line card has stopped working. I have spent half a day

Samba 3.0.28 failing to authenticate on Win2003 Server Active Directory
I have set up a Fedora 8 server running Samba 3.0.28a-0.fc8 (the Fedora yum package version). I have successfully joined the server to the AD realm of a Win2003 server on the office network. Configuration was done following this guide: http://www.howtoforge.com/samba-domaincontroller-swat-fedora8-p3 However Authentication against the AD server does not work. When I test winbind with: #

CentOS Build
Johnny, or any one to answer. http://www.linuxhelp.net/forums/How_to_Build_Enterprise_Srpms_t3384.html As it seems this was done in 2004. Is there an updated version to it? Also the required pckages needed. I have the info from WBL site and various scripts from the centos site. What i am really interested in is the main os rebuild with anaconda runtime. I'm not after creating a live image.

Creating New Variable Using Ifelse
Hello R Help List, I am an R novice and trying to use the ifelse function to create a new binary variable based off of the responses of two other binary variables; NAs are involved. I pulled it off almost successfully, but when I checked the counts of my new variable for accuracy, I found that a small portion of the NA cases were not being passed through as NAs, but as "0" counts in my

weibplot (Weibull plot) for R
Hello, The following script allows for Weibull plots using R. Its output is similar to the output of the wblplot function (or weibplot function) in MATLAB. As opposed to the previously mentioned function it does not require proprietary software. Instead, it is based on R. My code also allows for a graphical visualization of weibull fitted data. In particular, data can be represented by a

Using Samba from One Unix box to one Win98 PC
To all the helpful people out there, We currently use samba on our Unix server and have win98 clients from a winNT network that we share files with. I have a user that will soon be working at home using a Unix (SGI Octane2) box and a Win98 PC. He wants to be able to share files between the machines. My question is will I need some kind of hub between the two for them to make Samba work or

Blocking and compression.
I did some research on patent claims on range and arithmetic coding. The original range code pdf presented in the UK by an ibm employee at the time asserts no patent claims what so ever. If there are patents I cant find em. I have the original paper in PDF if anyone cares to see it. Its a good candidate for encoding because browsing a few of the implememntations avaialable on line, I can roll my

D-channel errors and Channelbanks
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've been seeing some strange issues recently as it relates to our Asterisk phone system. Let me give a little background on things: We have a T1 provided by Knology. We recently had an outage of Internet and phones. The following problems (except for the log messages) seemed to have cropped up after the outage. I was prompted by a friend of mine

an S idiom for ordering matrix by columns?
There's got to be a better way to use order() on a matrix than this: > y 2L-035-3 2L-081-23 2L-143-18 2L-189-1 2R-008-5 2R-068-15 3L-113-4 3L-173-2 398 1 1 2 2 1 1 2 2 857 1 1 2 2 1 2 2 2 911 1 1 2 2 1 2 2 2 383 1 1

Samba 3.0.10 join domain
I have found a fixed my previous problems (two typos that were hard to find) and now the smbldap-tools all work as expected if I run them as root. However when I try to join a domain from a windows machine, the scripts never run and get an "Access is denied message". Since I am using 0.10 I do not think I can use net rpc rights, so do I need to add that into ldap manually? Or do I

creating a vector of sums
Hi, I am trying to create a function for a goodness-of-fit test for the Pareto Distribution for some loss data that I have. So far I have the following: function(X=OTOL) { n <- length(X)-1 #calculated the number of values (extra as 0 included) i <- 2:640 #values of i j <- 1:639 #values of i-1 Y <- (n-j+1)*((X[i])-(X[j])) #First part of GoF model Y } Where OTOL is the ordered loss

folding table into a matrix
I'm just getting started with R, so feel free to point me to the appropriate documentation if this is already answered somewhere (though I've been unable to find it myself). This does seem like a rather basic question. I want to fold a table into a matrix. The table is formatted like so: Column_Index Value 1 486 2 688 3 447 4 555 5

Replace <NA> with something else
I am reading some data into R from an Excel spreadsheet using read.csv. Some of the original data that comes into column 1 from the spreadsheet is text that says NA. The NA stands for north america. As it comes in, R converts the NA over to <NA>. What is the cleanest way to change the <NA> values to something else. In other words, get rid of the brackets ? Maybe convert <NA>
