How to execute R scripts simultaneously from multiple threads
Hi All,
My problem is about parallel execution of R-scripts. My platform is linux.
A program that is written in C needs to execute multiple R-scripts
simultaneously. The C program makes use of multi-threading. Each thread
must initiate the execution of one script. Performance is very important.
Appearantly the R C-API does not provide a mechanism for parallel
execution..
It is preferred

[PATCH] RFC: rhv-upload-plugin: Use imageio client
We can use now ImageioClient to communicate with ovirt-imageio server
on oVirt host.
Using the client greatly simplifies the plugin, and enables new features
like transparent proxy support. The client will use transfer_url if
possible, or fall back to proxy_url.
Since the client implements the buffer protocol, move to version 2 of
the API for more efficient pread().
Another advantage the client

Q: I wasn't sure if we still need the "UnsupportedError" class so I
left it in.
Q: Does the Unix socket always have the same name? What happens if
there's more than one transfer happening?
I tested this both ways, and it worked both

save.image compression_level argument
Hi,
in "save.image", it would be nice if there was a "compression_level"
argument that is passed along to "save".
Or is there a reason for disabling the "compression_level" option for
saving workspaces, but enabling it for manually saving individual
objects?
Thanks,
Andreas

Kudos to the R support team
Hi there,
I just wanted to take a quick second to thank everyone who maintains this
service- just in case you don't hear it enough, there are a plethora of people
who rely on this service (as evidenced by the help archives), and even if they
don't say it, are greatly thankful for what you do here. Not only are you
providing a service to people who are learning R, but indeed helping

[LLVMdev] no differnce in the execution time between seq. and parallel programs
Hi all
please can any one help me to find the reason??
i am using LLVM to execute two programs both of them was exactly
similar but the difference was the first one is a sequential program
has three functions. In the second program i am trying to execute it
by giving each function to thread (three thread work in parallel way)
,but when i am trying to calculate the execution time i found

No idea. Maybe you forgot to turn optimizations on when compiling? Otherwise
you are going to have to send in your programs along with an explanation of how
you compiled them exactly (exact sequence of commands) both for gcc and LLVM.

parallel execution in R
Dear all,
I have a piece of code that I want to run in parallel (I am working in system of 16 cores)
foreach (i=(seq(-93,-73,length.out=21))) %dopar%
{
threshold<-i
print(i)
do_analysis1(i,path)
do_analysis2(i,path)
do_something_else_analysis1(i,path)
something_else_now(i,path)
}
as you can see I have already tried to make

For a certain definition of "easy" :-)
Our QE team tests -o rhv-upload from time to time, and will do an
end-to-end test of the system when RHV 4.4 arrives with the new
feature.

help with execution of 'embarrassingly parallel' problem using foreach, doParallel on a windows system
Dear R helpers,
I have what another member on this forum described as
an embarrassingly parallel problem. I am trying to fit models on subsets of
some data based on unique combinations of two id factors in the dataset.
Total number of combinations is 30^5, and this takes a long time. So, I
would like fit models for each of the datasets produced by subsetting on
the unique combinations, splitting
