building a package under windows
Hi,
I have a package of my own which seems to work fine under linux.
I want to make a compiled version for windows.
(I work with windows 2000 and R 2.0)
I have followed the steps described in the file
readme.packages (in the top-level directory of the binary installation)
and I had a trouble at this step (which aim is not documented):

calling fortran functions CHOL and DPOTRF form Fortran
Hi all,
I'm working out some Fortran code for which
I want to compute the Choleski decomposition of a covariance matrix
in Fortran.
I tried to do it by two methods :
1) Calling the lapack function DPOTRF.
I can see the source code and check that my call is correct,
but it does not compile with:
system("R CMD SHLIB ~/main.f")
dyn.load("~/main.so")
I get:

building an R package : where and how should my fortran library be loaded ?
Hi ,
I'm currently trying to make available
a few fortran subroutines and R functions
(which make interface to these subroutines),
as an R package.
I'm doing it under linux with R 1.9.0
(but hope to do it for windows too).
I have trouble for loading my fortran code.
Here are the steps involved :

R binomial RNG stuck at 1 via Fortran call
Hi,
I have some trouble with the result of a fortran function calling the R
binomial RNG:
The C function rbinom is wrapped as in the file attached.
My main fortran program starts as
call rndstart()
and ends as
call rndend()
I happen to call the binomial RNG within a loop as
b = ggrbinom(1.d0,0.5d0)
write(*,*) 'b=',b
In certain cases, after a few iterations in the loop,
b get

Calling C from Fortran
I would like to call C routines from Fortran under linux as suggested in
section 5.6 of
the "Writing R extensions" documentation.
I'm familiar with Fortran but not with C.
I understand the example provided in Fortran:
subroutine testit()
double precision normrnd, x
call rndstart()
x = normrnd()
call dblepr("X was", 5, x, 1)
call rndend()
end
but I don't understand

Fedora Core 4
I had installed R from source on Fedora Core 3. Then I upgraded
to Fedora Core 4, but left R alone. R worked fine, until I trued
to update.packages(). Even then, many packages updated just
fine, but two of them, cluster and mgcv, failed with the
following error message (using cluster as an example):
gcc -shared -L/usr/local/lib -o cluster.so clara.o daisy.o

I hope someone can point me, a newcomer to building R as well as 64-bit R, in
a useful direction. I have a dual Opteron 275 box running RedHat EL4. I ran
configure successfully, and, then, get the following error while running make:

searching Jonathan Baron's R Site
First, my site will be down December 27-28 because of a network
upgrade at Penn. It will also be down at least one day before
that, while I upgrade the operating system. (And another day
some time in January because of a planned power outage.)
Second, I have replaced the search engine in my R site:

I am now using Namazu instead of HtDig. The direct link to the

Error when running configure on xeon with r-1-9-patched
Dear list,
I'm having a problem configuring R-1-9-patched on a Intel Xeon machine
running Fedora Core 2. I used svn to checkout the source, altered
config.site to add some optimisation flags to match the Fedora rpm on
CRAN (the flags work fine on two other P3 or P4 machines I've compiled R
on).
./configure fails with:

Problem w/cygwin1.1 (maybe)
I am using rw1001 on Windows 98. I have a package that involves both c and
fortran code, which compiled successfully under cygnus b20.1 with Mummit Kahn''s
port of gcc 2.95.2. I have upgraded to the new net release of cygwin (version
1.1, including the recent cygwin package upgrade to 1.1.1). Now when the dll
for my package is being created, I get the string of errors like:
