nlme predict with se?
I am trying to make predictions with se's using a nlme (kew11.nlme below). I get an error indicating levels for a factor are not allowed. I have searched and read Rnews, MEMSS, MASS, R-Help, and other lists in Spanish where I found questions similar to mine but not solution. I do not really care about the method used. Any suggestions to obtain predictions with se's from an nlme

pxelinux: 2.04 works but 2.09 doesn't
Hi, Recently I upgraded pxelinux.0 from 2.04 to 2.09, after that the pxelinux doesn't correctly obtain server's IP address. The true address is 172.20.0.101, but 2.09 understand it as 172.20.0.11. "0" is dropped. As a result, root nfs-mount is directed to the non existent server. Following is the full screen dump of pxeboot by pxelinux 2.09:

Re: Re: Service resource does not turn services off on reboots
Hi, Thanks for the help. I do see these services coming back up if I reboot the system. They are brought down again when puppet run for the first time. Besides, I have never seen Puppet calling chkconfig service off even in the first run, when the services were in a up state after the system installation. I wonder if I missed something. Any other idea? thanks, -fred On Mon, Aug 29, 2011 at

xen backports, sarge dom0 problem
Hi, I've tried to get my sarge desktop booting under the xen hypervisor, and have been having some problems. I've asked about it on the xen-users mailing lists, the #xen irc channel with oftc, and on the sage-au mailing lists, but not had any answers at all. I can boot into the system, but the boot process seems to freeze during the /etc/rc2.d/S* scripts. It used to freeze while

Drivers are stored in the print$ share. Under this share there are 5 folders, each for a different architecture. Under these folders may be some subfolders (e.g. print$\W32X86 has folder "2" and "3" under it). The client goes to install a shared printer and will access these folders and pull out the appropriate file. Drivers are added likewise by going to the shared printer,

RHEL 7.1 and Samba 4.1.12 partial success
I'm having issues with a couple of areas of Samba Setup. I can see (from my Win 8.1 workstation) the shares for the server for my test share \\p30\download<file:///\\p30\download> and \\p30\bietz<file:///\\p30\bietz> my home folder. I don't have permissions to access the folders and/or can't create or delete files. I had an upgraded Active Directory domain from Windows

Constant disk activity
Hi, I am running centos on a laptop and the HD keeps on making noises every so often, even when I go to runlevel 1 and stop everything that could be doing so (hotplug, smartd, cron, anacron, atd, syslogd...). Is there any way of finding out what is accessing the disk? Not only it shortens battery life, it is annoying while working in a quiet room. Thanks Gabriel Send instant messages to your

Booting problem after update, how to track order of starting services
Hi. I have updated system/server that worked for a long time. It was upgrade from 6.4 to latest. After restart, system freezes after most/all of the daemons are booted. Windows NT/2000/XP printer driver downloading
Hi, I am new to the Samba world. I have a question regarding the Windows NT/2000/XP automatically printer driver downloading. Do we, the Sysadmins, have to set up different printer entries in smb.conf to tell the Windows NT/2000/XP end users to use different printer drivers for their systems? Or Does the Samba have the capability of automatically identifying client OS, then download different

download.file() yields incomplete files with method="internal"
Dear all, as the bug # 7991 is flagged not-reproducible, let me give you some pieces of code, as I have the same or similar problem. The problem always shows up with the first example (a small text file) and only sometimes (but without obvious pattern) with the second example, which is a binary file. > download.file("ftp://ftp.nhc.noaa.gov/pub/atcf/btk/bal012006.dat",
