Linking C/C++ GUI to R.dll
Hi, I am in the process of linking a C/C++ application to the R.dll directly. I have obtained the R source code and compiled it successfully. I have also successfully linked the R.dll directly into our application and have made calls successfully into the R.dll that are included in the sample rtest.c and in the "Writing R Extensions - The R API". The R functionality that we are

Embedding R in C application
To whom it may concern, I am very interested in embedding the R functionality in our application. This is a C application that currently runs on Win32, but will also run on Linux in the future. From the material that I have seen, I need R compiled as a shared library to evaluate R expressions from C. Is this correct? If so, can I download this shared library from somewhere? Is there any API

Adding payment to an app: how hard and risky is it?
Hi all. I have never implemented online payment and it''s the only thing that keeps me from accepting a project for a UK based client. (I must reply quickly!) While I can afford spending an extra week - or 2 - to learn/try/tune the payment system, I must be sure to succeed before I accept the contract. If you''ve already been through that path, any hints, links and/or

5.2 x86_64 DVD
I've pulled this down with Firefox, wget, a bittorrent client and an ftp client using Windows as well as Linux hosts. Is something wrong with the distributed DVD image? It has failed an MD5 check every time I've pulled it down. Output non-HTML (CSV) from Rails
Hi, I want to offer a CSV download of data in my Rails app (eg. An "Export to Excel" link to grab the current view of tabulated data). However, I can''t seem to break-out of the Rails framework to output this non-HTML data. Even if I eliminate my layout template from my view, the most basic view (no HTML) will still wrap the output in

R on EC2 and R CMD javareconf
Hello, I am using EC2 to launch several instances. On each instance, I perform the following commands yum -y install R (installs R-2.6) R CMD javareconf sleep 10 wget rpackage.tgz R CMD INSTALL rpackage.tgz Now, rpackage.tgz needs to be built with jni libraries. When the instance is fully up, i log in and check if rpackage was successfully installed and find out it wasn't. Running R CMD

S4 objects in the data directory
Hi [R-2.10.0; suse linux] I am having difficulty creating S4 objects in the data directory of a package. I want to create a bunch of simple S4 objects for use in the examples section of the Rd files. It says in R-exts that: " R code should be ?self-sufficient? and not make use of extra functionality provided by the package, so that the data file can also be used without having to load

CTRL-C behaviour with RODBC on Solaris2.8
After loading the RODBC package version 1.1-7, Ctrl-C changes its behaviour and is quitting R and returning to the (unix-)command prompt on the solaris2.8 platform here. Help with TextSearch :all and MySQL
Hi, I really need help with making the ''searches_on :all'' in Duane Johnson''s TextSearch work with MySQL (not sure if it works with other db''s). http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/pages/TextSearch I realize that there are other search packages out there. But this particular solution best fits my small needs of searching a small database. I''ve gotten

importing/loading package without a namespace
I am developing a package that imports some functions from another package. The imported package (qcc) does not have a namespace and this is causing problems with loading of my package, which has a namespace. Is there a workaround to allow loading the namespace-less package? I searched the archives and found a suggestion that the package should be included in the Depends list, but this has not

When to use LazyLoad, LazyData and ZipData?
Dear developeRs, I've searched the documentation, FAQ, and mailing lists, but haven't found the answer(*) to the following: When should one specify LazyLoad, LazyData, and ZipData? And what is the default if they are left unspecified? (*)Except that 1) If the package you are writing uses the methods package, specify LazyLoad: yes, and 2) The optional ZipData field controls whether the

[PATCH 0/2] Deprecate zfile
OK let's restart this whole architecture thing. Firstly two patches which pass the '-z' parameter to 'file' so it looks inside compressed files. (Thanks to Matt for finding this not-so-obscure option). This means the 'zfile' command is now obsolete. Should "a" match "ä" in ferret?
Hi all, I have indexed a huge amount of data with text from several european languages. In the index are values like Georg Friedrich H?ndel. I would like a search phrase like "Georg Friedrich Handel" to find records with the real spelling of H?ndel but it doesn''t seem to work. Can anyone give me an idea of what I need to do to make this happen. A bit lost here and

"NA" vs. NA
Dear All, I assume this is an R-devel issue, apologies if I missed something obvious. I have a dataframe where the row names are country codes, based on ISO 3166, something like this: ------------ "v1" "v2" "UK" 1 2 "NA" 2 3 ------------ It happens that "NA" is the country code for "Namibia", and that creates problems on
