R: bug in windows GUI/script editor (PR#8288)
Hi Duncan, I am running R in MDI mode (with localisation not installed because I need to use RWinEdt), on an Italian version of Windows 2000 Pro. I just logged in today and tried to reproduce the bug: the first three times all was fine, the fourth one I got the bug, and finally noticed one detail: the bug appears when I open an R script (I tried several) which causes the "part of the

Working with Sweave: inverse search?
The xdvi and yap DVI viewers allow inverse (aka reverse) search: you click on a location in the output display, and your editor moves to the corresponding location in the input file. yap at least also allows forward search, where you can have your editor tell it to location where a particular input line is displayed. I would like something like this to work in Sweave files. That is, I

Packages of snippets?
FWIW, I already include function 'snippets' in the gregmisc package (soon to be a package bundle). I would be happy to do this in a more public fashion. I generally require that the sumitter provide both the R code and a corresponding .Rd file. -Greg > -----Original Message----- > From: r-devel-bounces@stat.math.ethz.ch > [mailto:r-devel-bounces@stat.math.ethz.ch]On Behalf

Fwd: Re: shell.exec() on Windows, unexpected behavior
Duncan is on the right track. Thanks. In the CMD window start "c:\Program Files\R\R-2.5.0\doc\manual\R-admin.pdf" opens another CMD window with the quoted string as title. In the CMD window start c:\Progra~1\R\R-2.5.0\doc\manual\R-admin.pdf (with the 8.3 name and no embedded blanks) opens Adobe Reader 8 Windows Explorer shows the Adobe 6 icon by the PDF files. FR: Customize background colour of row and column headers for the View output
A criticism of your suggestion is that it is not backwards compatible. Does that matter? I don't know, but probably not. The X11 version of the viewer does what you suggest. New version of Rtools for Windows
The r.dll crash is easy - you need to be using gcc-ar for ar, and gcc-ranlib for ranlib. I also posted a patch to fix the check failure for stack probing, as lto optimizes away the stack probing code, as it should. yes, lto build's speed gain is very impressive. ------------------------------ On Thu, Jan 8, 2015 2:01 PM GMT Henric Winell wrote: >On 2015-01-08 14:18, Avraham Adler

Is anyone using the MiniR distribution?
I currently build two different versions of each Windows binary: the rwXXXX.exe full installation program (with the next release looking to be around 25 Megabytes), and a series of 8 diskette-sized files named miniR*. The miniR files only include a minimal installation of R, and are rarely tested. Rather than building something that may not even work, I'd like to stop building them.

Rterm in a Cygwin shell (in Windows) (PR#7287)
This bug report is mostly a note to myself to track this down: In the version of the Cygwin bash shell I'm currently using, Rterm does not detect that it is being run interactively, so it switches into batch mode, and lots of things stop working. >$ bash --version >GNU bash, version 2.05b.0(1)-release (i686-pc-cygwin) >Copyright (C) 2002 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
