PR#751
I'd just like to report a possible R bug--or rather, confirm an existing one
(bug #751).
I have had some difficulty using the polyroot() function.
For example, in Win 98, R 1.1.1,
> polyroot(c(2,1,1))
correctly (per the help index) gives the roots of 1 + (1*x) + (2*x^2) as
[1] -0.5+1.322876i -0.5-1.322876i
However,
> polyroot(c(-100,0,1))
gives the roots of
[1] 10+0i -10+0i

suse 9.1 x86_64 rpms?
I noticed on the mailing list archives and through Google searches that
a couple of months ago there was discussion of maintaining rpms for suse
9.1 on the x86_64 architecture.
Are these rpms still planning on being released? It would help me a
great deal.
I've tried compiling from source using the R-base spec files provided on
CRAN. Using that, I am able to produce a running version of

png printing (PR#2192)
Full_Name: Kristian Eric Markon
Version: 1.6
OS: Win 98
Submission from: (NULL) (24.26.167.90)
I noticed sort of an odd bug when I was printing out figures to png files.
It's a bit difficult to explain how to reproduce exactly, because it depends on
a lot of data specific to my situation.
Basically, if I plot the figure to the screen, it looks exactly as it should. If

Feature Request: Multiline Comments
Hello,
Is it possible to extend the R lexer/parser to include multiline comments like
/*
acomment
*/
?
This way I can integrate emacs org-mode with my R code, so that I can
have a table of contents,
section folding, html-output of source etc.
e.g
/*
* Display Code
*/
#+BEGIN_SRC R
foo <- function(...){
stuff
}
#+end_src
and so on .
Thanks

How to set GCC version for ovmf compilation
Hi all
I''m trying to compile xen tools with OVMF firmware, but the compilation fails due to the hardcoded use of gcc44 for OVMF.
If I download the EDK2 source I get the same error if I set gcc to 4.4 but actually have 4.7, however, a patch is available for gcc47.
I have tried to install both gcc46 and get the same error. I also tried gcc44 by instead get a python error.
Gcc46 and gcc47

donations / wishlist
Since some people don't like Paypal and other people have been telling
me for years to create Amazon wishlist, I figured I'd finally do it.
http://dovecot.org/donate.html now contains URL to the wishlist.
Currently it mostly contains all kinds of TV series DVDs (feel free to
laugh at what I watch :), but I also managed to remember a couple of
books I wanted.

Paypal donation or Amazon wishlist for core team?
Is there any Paypal donation or Amazon wishlist for rails core team
members?
I know programming in Ruby & Rails should be reward enough, but its
probably not a bad idea to let rails users express their appreciation in
this way.

Wishlist: axis() and line widths (PR#7223)
Full_Name: Tom Short
Version: 1.9.1
OS: Win2000 & Debian
Submission from: (NULL) (64.65.255.41)
WISHLIST:
axis() has a default parameter of "lwd = 1". I want skinnier lines as the
default. If I change the default lty, it doesn't change what axis uses.
The following code produces a graph with a box around it, but the axis lines are
twice as thick as the box around the plot, so

wishlist addition?
I didn't see this in the wishlist, but using rsync for backups as I'm
starting to do now, there's a feature that would be really cool. I
don't see it in the man page or in any of the docs online.
Basically, I'd like to see an option to modify --delete that deletes
only destination files that have been missing for over Y days. For
backups, this provides a time window on
