barplot() behavior changes under 1.9.1 Alpha
Greetings all,
It would appear that some default behavior changes for barplot() have
been introduced into Version 1.9.1 alpha (2004-05-30).
One change is in the specification of the default 'col' argument, which
is now:
col: a vector of colors for the bars or bar components. By default, grey
is used if height is a vector, and heat.colors(nrow(height)) if height
is a matrix.

tapply/barplot (PR#6983)
Hello,
there seems to be a bug in tapply or barplot in R 1.9.0 that was not in =
earlier versions. The following code creates two nice barplots in 1.7.0, =
but the first one is bad in 1.9.0:
par(mfrow=3Dc(1,2))
x <- rep(1:10,10)
y <- runif(100,1,100)
z <- tapply(y,x,mean)
barplot(z)
barplot(as.numeric(z))
although is.numeric(z) returns TRUE!
Best regards,

tapply() and barplot() help files for 1.8.1
Hi,
I've just upgraded to 1.9.0 and one of my Sweave files that produces a
number of barplots in a standard manner now produces them in a
different way. I have made a couple of small changes to my code to
get the back the output I was getting before upgrading and now (mostly
out of curiosity) would like to understand what has changed.
I *think* I've tracked it down to tapply() and/or

Xen Remus DRBD dual primary frozen
Dear all,
I have sent this problem earlier but maybe its not detail, here I try to

First of all I used Ubuntu 12.04 x64 both for domain0 and domainU with
modification to run under xen hypervisor and work with remus.
I follow and configured the remus with this notes

barplot
I??ve tried version 1.9.0 barplot with these (and others) example from the
help page:
tN <- table(Ni <- rpois(100, lambda=5))
r <- barplot(tN, col='gray')
I get :
<<...OLE_Obj...>>
Same example with version 1.8.1 gives the following result:
<<...OLE_Obj...>>
What is wrong with v.1.9.0?
Thanks,

Graphics after invoking R from the command line
I've tried running graphics commands like plot by invoking R at the
command line but the graphics window does not appear. I'm using
R-2.6.0 on Windows XP and am using the cmd shell. Here's a sample
session:
R --slave --save --file=-
x<-c(1,2,3,4)
plot(x,x)
This leads to nothing. I've found a way around it, but the graph
window is frozen and commands to it have to be sent twice

RE: guest-fsfreeze-freeze freezes all mounted block devices
Hi Peter,
Should I assume that the virsh domfsfreeze, does not require the
qemu-agent service in the guest?
PS. I couldn't find the result. Afaik it looks like it is returning the
amount of frozen/thawed filesystem's

I've noticed a bug with even recent OpenSSH products, where if the host disconnects during a certain period of time, the connection becomes frozen causing possible expolit problems .
For example
[root at portal ~] users
root
[root at portal ~] uptime -u (used to show how many users the box believes is logged on)
2 Users
[root at portal ~]
In theory this trapped connection can and has

guest-fsfreeze-freeze freezes all mounted block devices
I wondered if anyone here can confirm that
virsh qemu-agent-command domain '{"execute":"guest-fsfreeze-freeze"}'
Freezes all mounted block devices filesystems. So if I use 4 block
devices they are all frozen for snapshotting. Or just the root fs?

ad0: READ command timeout....
This morning I found a frozen box. On the console was this:
ad0: READ command timeout tag=0 serv=0 - resetting
ata0: resetting devices .. ata0-slave: ATA identify retries exceeded
done
After reboot, those messages were found in /var/log/messages.
I'm running FreeBSD 4.8-RC from Apr 4 10:45:49 EST 2003.
Any ideas?

Barplot and R 1.9.0
I would like to preface this by saying that I have not been using R for long, and consider myself a beginner. But the more I use and learn R, the more impressed I am with both the 'product' itself, and the efforts of those developing it.
It has been noted (eg Duncan Murdoch, 15 April), that the barplot function in R 1.9.0, when used on a tabulated single factor, produces a plot only one

Rails 1.1.1: Fixing a slew of minors (but you must still freeze Typo)
Rails 1.1 was a big upgrade with a lot of new features and we''ve been
working hard since its release to polish off the kinks revealed after
it was deployed to the masses. Rails 1.1.1 contains fixes for things
like Prototype memory leaks in IE 6, Oracle adapter runnings, and a
number of compatibility tweaks to make most older applications work.
This release still doesn''t work

theora release todos
Hi,
last week's thread about getting closer to a release fizzled out.
The mailing list discussion and the TheoraTodo wiki item suggest the
following are required for release:
1. freeze the theora logical bitstream format
2. complete the reference implementation tools
3. stablize the libtheora API
4. complete the documentation
I'd like to suggest this as

oggpcm2 sample rate
Hi,
I'd support the view of freezing the main header, since it helps in actually getting some implementation happening and it seems fully agreed on by everyone. FAIK, Zen has already started an implementation and if you, Conrad, implement, too, there is enough code to do validation.
What do you expect now to make it an "officially frozen" specification? Publish it on the main

Bars are not stacked, but superimposed. This happens even with the first

ATI 8.452 driver, Compiz: Frozen Alt+F2 Run Command Dialog
Listmates,
I am experiencing some quirks with the new ATI 8.1 (8.452) driver and
compiz-fusion on 10.3. Of note are:
(1) Invoking the run command with Alt+F2 correctly opens the run
dialog, but the cursor is frozen and will not take any input _until_ the
"Options" button is clicked or activated with Alt+o. Then the cursor
begins blinking normally and input is possible. If the
