Trying to get Xilinx tools running
Hi All, I am new to wine and am trying to get the Xilinx ISE FPGA command line tools running. FYI these are gate array compiler tools for the hardware industry. Anyway, wine seems to be setup enough so that I can run notepad.exe and I also ran the Xilinx installer which only crashed at the very end when it was doing some device/usb installation, but it managed to copy all the files alright

Xilinx ISE: can't add file to project
Greetings, I've been experimenting with various versions of ISE from 5.2, 6.2, 6.3 and have been unable to get any working to a usable state. Version 5.2 won't allow me the option of adding any sort of schematic, state machine or HDL (only text and edif constraints files) to a project. Versions 6.2 and 6.3 seem to allow me to add any type of file (schematic, sm, vhdl, verilog, etc).

Invalid configuration `mblaze': machine `mblaze' not recognized configure: error: /bin/bash ../../spare/llvm/autoconf/config.sub mblaze failed However with microblaze it proceeds fine. But when i try to use clang i get: clang: error: 'microblaze-unknown-none': unable to pass LLVM bit-code

Patents on algorithms harm data analytic services
Cologne, 10.12.00 Dear Sir, Dear Madam, We are concerned about the possibility that the European Commission might introduce software patenting into the European Community because we think this will harm our profession. We make our living on data management and statistical analyses. Modern statistics crucially depends on algorithms [cf. Venables, W. N., & Ripley, B. D. (1999). Modern applied

Queston on using the delete option
You brought up a very good point which described what rsync can and can not do. Because of the robustness of this application, we are trying to find a way to use rsync and replacing our current primitive system which uses tar and send the data over a small pipe. Since my last posting, I have thought about not using the "--delete"option and instead, gather a list of files to be
