erroneous warning in hist (PR#9408)
Full_Name: Alex Deckmyn Version: 2.4.0 OS: linux Submission from: (NULL) (193.190.63.62) specifying the "right" option in hist results in a warning when plot=F. The option is taken into account correctly, but a warning is issued anyway. need help with errors in betareg analysis
Hi I'm trying to fit a model in betareg and I'm getting errors, but have no idea what they mean or how to solve them. formals() adds 0 to complex function arguments
Dear list, I'm facing an issue with the automated documentation of a function using roxygen2. The function has a complex-valued default argument, which is picked up by roxygen2 using formals() to generate the corresponding Usage section of the Rd file. Unfortunately, it appears that formals() reformats complex numbers. Consider the example below, test <- function(a = 1+2i){} >

Question about glm using R
Good morning, I am using R to try to model the proportion of burned area in Portugal. The dependent variable is the proportion. The family used is binomial and the epsilon would be binary. I am not able to find the package to be used when the proportion (%) has to be used in glm. Could someone help me? I am using normal commands of glm.. for example: glm_5<- glm(formula=p~Precipitation,

Seeking documentation for SAMBA3+LDAP but NOT PDC
Hi there, I would like to build a _simple_ server for sharing files, using Samba3. I use FreeBSD5, the machine works well with ldap, nss_switch, pam_ldap. Users can login (ssh) using the ldap account : perfect. Now i want them to access some file/shares using SMB with Samba3, using their LDAP account. BUT : **I don't want to turn this simple server into a PDC machine** This would be

Sweave and complex numbers
Hi When using Sweave, most of my functions get called with complex arguments. They get typeset in with additions that I don't want; "1+1i" appears as "1 + (0 + 1i)" and I would rather have plain old "1+1i". Example follows: \documentclass[a4paper]{article} \title{A Test File} \author{Robin Hankin} \usepackage{a4wide} \begin{document} \maketitle A

betareg help

But I'm having problems: gyl<-betareg(cond ~ alcoh + drug, data=results) Error in optim(par = start, fn = loglikfun, gr = gradfun, method = method, : initial value in 'vmmin' is not finite Why is R returning me error in optim()? Specifying a more complex covariance matrix in lme or lmer
Hi all, I've searched threads and read up on some ways of doing this but I'm having a hard time to get it to work. Here's my basic problem. I have the following linear mixed model y = Xb+Zu+e where u~N(0,s^2*K) where K is a matrix. I read a thread that basically suggested to decompose Zu into ZPD^(1/2) D^(-1/2)P'u so that (D^(-1/2)P'u)~N(0,s'^2I) but I'm not sure

Multi-parameter assignment
Hi, I''m trying to submit data from text boxes on a form to one variable in my controller, in the same way that datetime_select has date(1i), date(2i), etc for day, month, year, etc... I''ve named my variables event[start_date(1i)] event[start_date(2i)] and event[start_date(3i)] but this doesn''t seem to work and event[:start_date] is blank ... any pointers would be

Working with date_select ...
I am a little confused about the best way to work with date_select. I see that in my views it generates a simple input form that allows for the entry of year, month and date information. If I just leave it at that, great! But what if now in the controller, I want to work with the date information. I actually want to take the user input date and compute a new date some number of days in the

inconsistency in attaching attributes to NULL
