Install problems R 1.3.1 on HP-UX (PR#1084)
Hi, I installed R 1.3.1 on HP-UX. This caused me quite some problems. These problems did not occur with the previous version I installed, which was R version 1.2.3. Update on: Installing the Rcmdr and tclk package
Hello R-users, first thanks to all who responded my questions regarding the installation of the Rcmdr and tcltk packages. The problem is with the tclk package on which Rcmdr depends. Following Prof Ripley's advice I re-installed Tcl and Tk, compiling from sources and making sure the "--enable-64bit" option of their configure was set and setting the environment variable

Compiling R (1.3.0) on AIX (4.3) fails (PR#1034)
Hi, This email reports bugs in acinclude.m4, src/library/tcltk/src/Makefile, and share/perl/Rd2contents.pl. R-devel problems
The OS X configure in R-devel has been changed to use two-level namespaces. There are still some problems. 1. Trunmed.c in the modreg packages defines a function heapsort(), while heapsort is also defined (differently) in /usr/lib/stdlib.h. I (temporarily) disabled the definition in stdlib.h. 2. If R is configured with the --without-x flag, then CPPFLAGS does not include /usr/X11R6/include,

[Re: tcltk loading in R-2.2.1 from src]
Hi, I believe configure was not finding tk.h, because tk-devel rpm was not available on the given host. Thanks Erik and Peter for the suggestions on checking tk.h and stdout of ./configure. Just one further question for Peter> "Well, the package is there, as a stub to tell you that it doesn't work...." So then how can you confirm from the library() output (or elsewhere) if

configure: sed: Function s%@PDFLATEX@%/usr/local/bin/pdflatex%g (PR#1222)
Sometimes, configure isn't able to create the makefiles. It produces errors like: sed: Function s%@PDFLATEX@%/usr/local/bin/pdflatex%g cannot be parsed. This happens when I use a combination of arguments to configure like: --prefix=$HOME/R-tst --with-tcl-config=/opt_local/opt/tcl/lib/tclConfig.sh --with-tk-config=/opt_local/opt/tk/lib/tkConfig.sh If I leave out the last two

Missing -lm for tcltk (R 1.1.0, AIX 4.3) (PR#573)
Hi, ok, AIX 4.3 insists on being different. I can't compile --with-tcltk out of the box. I have to add '-lm' to the SHLIBLDFLAGS manually after configure. Which brings up the question: Can you use TK_LIBS instead of TK_XLIBSW during configure? Excerpt from tkConfig.sh on my machine: # Linker switch(es) to use to link with the X11 library archive.

Lost Tcl/Tk support
In prior versions, as recent as R-1.5.0pre (2002-04-08), Tcl/Tk support worked just fine, with "configure" (no flags) finding /usr/local/lib/tclConfig.sh and /usr/local/lib/tkConfig.sh. In Monday's official release of R-1.5.0, Tcl/Tk support now fails for me (under Solaris 2.6): ... checking for tclConfig.sh... no checking for tclConfig.sh in library (sub)directories... no

phyloclim could not be installed in linux - problems on tkrplot dependence
Dear R-helpers, Christoph (author of phyloclim) and Luke (author of tkrplot), I would like to get your helps on installing of phyloclim in Ubuntu linux. It seems a package named 'tkrplot' could not be installed at firstly, then packages depends on it could not be installed latter. As I have tested, installation of phyloclim works smoothly in Mac. I attempted to install these packages in

tcltk problems
It recently came to my attention that my R installation no longer has tcltk capability. I can't figure out why or what to do about it. I built R from source. I configured using the "--with-tcltk" flag. The build and install *seemed* to go OK, but after realising I didn't have tcltk capability I looked into config.log. There I found: > configure:39486: checking for
