Update on: Installing the Rcmdr and tclk package
Hello R-users,
first thanks to all who responded my questions regarding the installation
of the Rcmdr and tcltk packages. The problem is with the tclk package on
which Rcmdr depends.
Following Prof Ripley's advice I re-installed Tcl and Tk, compiling from
sources and making sure the "--enable-64bit" option of their configure was
set and setting the environment variable

Install problems R 1.3.1 on HP-UX (PR#1084)
Hi,
I installed R 1.3.1 on HP-UX. This caused me quite some
problems. These problems did not occur with the previous version
I installed, which was R version 1.2.3.
First, the result of configure:

configure: sed: Function s%@PDFLATEX@%/usr/local/bin/pdflatex%g (PR#1222)
Sometimes, configure isn't able to create the makefiles. It
produces errors like:
sed: Function s%@PDFLATEX@%/usr/local/bin/pdflatex%g cannot be parsed.
This happens when I use a combination of arguments to configure like:
--prefix=$HOME/R-tst
--with-tcl-config=/opt_local/opt/tcl/lib/tclConfig.sh
--with-tk-config=/opt_local/opt/tk/lib/tkConfig.sh

Missing -lm for tcltk (R 1.1.0, AIX 4.3) (PR#573)
Hi,
ok, AIX 4.3 insists on being different. I can't compile --with-tcltk
out of the box. I have to add '-lm' to the SHLIBLDFLAGS manually
after configure.
Which brings up the question: Can you use TK_LIBS instead of TK_XLIBSW
during configure? Excerpt from tkConfig.sh on my machine:
# Linker switch(es) to use to link with the X11 library archive.

Tcl8.0.4 missing function?! (PR#1640)
I just realised that the return address in my recent bug report probably
won't work... Here it is once more:
I compiled the latest R release. Configure correctly found my Tcl/Tk 8.0.4
installation (it searched in various tcl8.0 and tk8.0 places). However,
when:

Problem installing R Commander plugin...
Hi ho folks:
I'm running the indicated version of R on Hardy Heron Ubuntu.
(Yes, I am quite aware that it is considered old news but then I don't
run the "latest and greatest" computer gear. I've tried both Gnome and
KDE editions of Ubuntu Lynx and even a current run of Fedora. I find
Heron simply works better on my machine.)
When I try to install RcmdrPlugin.PT most of

R-1.5.1 is released
I've rolled up R-1.5.1.tgz a short while ago. This is a patch upgrade,
fixing the most important bugs that cropped up after the 1.5.0 release.
A set of recommended packages which have been tested with R-1.5.1 has
been bundled up. Binary distributions should include these packages.
You can get the files from the developer site

Combo Box Wdget for Tcl/Tk under R
Hi,
I have two questions:
First, does anyone know how to put a combobox inside a GUI made with Tcl/Tk ? I think there isn't a simple way to do this (a command like tkcombobox()!), but is it possible to write a more complex code to achieve this ?
Second, when I put two listboxes in the same window or frame (even in two different toplevel windows), I cannot select things in the two lists
