actually touches the ACLs for newly created files and directories. smbd
only seems to manipulate ACLs when they're changed from a windows client.
3. The "inherit acls" config option does not fix this problem,
which is not surprising since that's not what the option is intended to do.

letting the opsys determine what access a user has to a file. I do not know
if this is deliberate or not and it has pros and cons with respect to

I solved the 'problem' by changing the group id on smb.conf to 10 (wheel on
Linux, staff on Soalris) and changing the permissions to 660. Since only
admins have wheel as their primary group, this restricts access to people

1.) Edited my SMB.conf inside the /etc/samba directory - I changed the =
default workgroup name to match that of my Windows 2000 SP2 machine.
I also edited the Public share to point to /home/markdog/apps =

2.) Manually started the SMBD and NMBD daemons- these are the copied =

And:
"Call from 'conference' to extension 'conference' rejected because
extension not found."

Does anyone have an ideia of why I'm getting that message?

network outages and recent tests have shown that works well, albeit the
switch takes about 20 minutes to propagate the dns updates but otherwise
flawless.

It's embarrassing and I'm losing credibility when clients are asking if
I'm still in business as the phone has dropped way to often in the past
few month. Interesting enough all outages to date have been Fridays or
Mondays.
