Rcmd SHLIB in rw1031 (R for Win)
Thanks for the answers on readme.packages. I have installed Rw1031 from SetupR.exe including the option for compiling source files and, following directions in www.stats.ox.ac.ul/pub/Rtools, have installed: -tools.zip -Perl (Active Perl) -mingw-1.1.tar.gz -copied sh.exe to c:\bin\sh.exe After Perl installation, its directory is added to my path. I have also added the directory where the R

Rcmd?
Hello, a short question: I cannot find the Rcmd file in the my installed Windows R Program. It is not known as a command inside R (which is not intended as I suppose) nor as an executable or similar file elsewhere? How can I make my own package? Holger -- PD Dr. habil. uninstal rw1030 (Win9*)
Hi all, I installed rw1031 but not uninstalled rw1030 just to make sure everything was working normally with the new version. After few weeks, I'm ready to uninstal rw1030. My question is: should I use the rw1030 unins00.exe program or could this program damage the rw1031 inatallation (perhaps modifies the registry...) ? Perhaps should I just delete the rw1030 directory? Thanks Dr.

tkfilefind in tcltk on Windows2000
Hi, The tkfilefind demo in the tcltk package doesn't seem to work for me in Windows2000. The demo script uses tkfilefind(".") which doesn't display the parent directory so you can't browse around the whole drive. Using tkfilefind() (which uses the default path getwd()) doesn't seem to work for me at all. I also tried tkfilefind("/") which worked fine but

Wrong header file in ttest.c (windlgs package).
Hi everyone, I've just installed "rw1040" and all the components necessary to compile packages for windows. I always try out my new installation on the provided package "windlgs" in order to ensure that everything is working. This time I ran into a small problem. Indeed, the second line of "ttest.c" includes a header file ("ga.h") which does not

why doesn't as.character of this factor create a vector ofcharacters?
This message didn't seem to have been somewhat forgotten. Here is a reply. When you constructed the data.frame, all strings were converted to factors. If you didn't want that, it would have been possible to specify it: df<-data.frame(a=a,b=b,c=c,stringsAsFactors=F) Then everything would work as intended: one.line<-as.character(df[df$a=="Abraham",]) Actually, the real

Theora, MMX and optimisation
Hi everyone, I just landed into the theora planet, as a game programmer, I searched for a free video fomat/codec and the theora choice became obvious. However I experienced rather bad performance (at least from a game programming point of view) After a couple a profiling, I discovered, as previous discused in a post found via Google, that the bottleneck is in the ogg library.
