pretty not covering the range properly (PR#673)
When I issue the command: if ( c(2.8,3)[1] < pretty (c(2.8,3))[1]) print ("problem") the result is "problem" prints. I have traced it to bits and the 2.8 of the returned vector from pretty is slightly larger. This seems to be due to the conversion to base 10 with the ns and unit variables in src/appl/pretty.c. Anyway if I do something like: hist(c(2.8,3)) it fails as well

Creating unique code
Hi Hannah, Yes, that does give me more insight. The polygyny only doesn't matter, for even if there was polyandry it could be coded in the same way. If I understand this correctly you have one variable (SPRULE) that must contain information about the household of the individual and the identities of his (or her) relationship partner(s). The household number can accommodate up to three

Kerberos and 2008 AD troubles
I've been trying to get Kerberos to work for the last couple of days so that we can use SSO. I can't seem to get past a roadblock and Google doesn't seem to provide any answers. I've got Samba connected to the AD and running. I can wbinfo everything and can login to the machine using PAM with the pam_winbind modules just fine. I can get user tickets just fine. When I try to get ssh

Converting time from HH:MM:SS to only HH:MM
Hi all, I need to compare between times and put all similar times in specific 1 minute bins. Unfortunately the original data include seconds as well. My data is in HH:MM:SS format but I need it rounded to only HH:MM and trying in Excel to display "unique" records only does not work since the seconds are not unique. Is there an easy way using perhaps CHRON to change all from the

R-alpha: Re: Pretest Version + Notes --- write.table
Kurt writes KH>> * I am also not sure whether one should include the write.table() KH>> function I posted some time ago. It seems to be a bad idea to make a KH>> contrib package out of it (containing only a single function ...). Yes, I think we should have a good "write" function for data.frames. However, I would go even further and 'vote' for a GENERIC

HH.EXE location
This is related to my post about .chm where vitamin set me on the right path. http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=1026 Since then I reinstalled Ubuntu 8.04 and wine. While perusing the virgin registry I noticed the chm.file ...command key was: C:\windows\system32\hh.exe %1 There is no hh.exe located in that directory. The hh.exe file is located in the C:\windows\ directory. If wine uses the

Viewing .CHM files with hh.exe from command line
I would like to be able to start the Wine .chm file-viewer, C:\windows\hh.exe, from the command-line like this: wine hh.exe /some/dir/somefile.chm It works if the current directory contains the .chm file, but not if I have to specify a path. Am I missing something?

[HH] extending ancova function for 2 factors

Help with charting time in seconds as HH:MM:SS on charts
Hello, I am dealing with data stored in a database as a 'time' object. I export the data from the database to a text file and utilize the 'time_to_sec()' function of the database to convert the human readable time (HH:MM:SS) to seconds so that I can use R to do analysis and create charts of the data. I do not need or use days or dates in the data, and the data range is from

[HH] changing font size in interaction2wt
Hi, I would like to change font sizes (more generally the cex) in plots produced by the function "interaction2wt" of the "HH" package. Here is an example (from the interaction2wt example) of what I have tried: --8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8--- rm(list = ls(all = TRUE)) rm(list = c(ls())) library("HH") ## From the example:

Revised Rcmdr.HH package
I posted a revised Rcmdr.HH_1.8-0 package on CRAN. The Rcmdr.HH package adds additional menu items to the Rcmdr package by John Fox. Our introductory course at Temple University includes several topics that were not addressed in the Rcmdr. This revision uses the new RcmdrPlugin technology that John announced a few days ago. histogram for time with format hh:mm
Hi, I have a dataset and calculated the time difference between two time variables. The output is somewhat like *"1/29/2324 1:57:39 AM".* I want to plot a histogram for this variable. When I gave *hist()* command it returned an error saying *"Error in hist.default(num) : 'x' must be numeric"* Can anybody guide me on this as to how should I plot the histogram for this?
