Wx::FileDialog and common dialogs
The documentation for Wx::FileDialog is incorrectly generated:
http://wxruby.rubyforge.org/doc/filedialog.html
Every time the ''*'' (for the wildcard character in file filters) appears,
the doc instead switches between boldface and normal.
Also, it seems like the links under "See also" are broken.

Wx::FileDialog Styles are not working
The Constants for the Styles for FileDialog are not initialized to a value
and the class will not work without those, the Dialog will come up when you
call the show_modal method but the filenames are not showing up
I specifically need the values for
FD_OPEN
FD_SAVE
FD_OVERWRITE_PROMPT
FD_FILE_MUST_EXIST
but if I can''t get those then I''ll find a workaround
so far this has

FileDialog.i patch
Here''s a patch for FileDialog.i. Seems we had never removed that #ifdef
in there.
wxWindows 2.6.2 works just fine on Windows. No other news.

Patch file for FileDialog.i
Attached is a patch file for FileDialog.i. It doesn''t work 100% yet
because I haven''t yet figured out how to make it put the ruby
declarations in the right place. If I cut and paste the
rb_define_methods into the right place this works perfectly.
This patch fixes the dialogs.rb multiple select example so that
get_paths and get_filenames returns a ruby array. Note that I

wxGrid Question
When operating with a wxGrid is there a way to get a reference to the
TextCtrl field that is created when you start typing in a cell.
Also is there a way to get mouse events to work with a wxGrid, so far I
can''t get any of them to work. I had tried various combo''s of:
@grid.evt_left_down(){ |event|
puts "Left mouse is down"; }
using evt_left_down, evt_left_up,

Fixing Ogg Vorbis files with incorrectly framed headers
Greetings.
Possibly as the result of buggy tagging software, several hundred of my
Ogg Vorbis files exhibit the following warning when examined by ogginfo:
WARNING: Vorbis stream 1 does not have headers correctly framed.
Terminal header page contains additional packets or has non-zero
granulepos
Nonetheless, most media players can play these files without any
problem. A notable exception is

rsync fails to sync files
Hi,
I'm seeing a weird problem with rsync 2.6.9 protocol version 29 on
Debian Sarge. When copying a file from one location to another between
two Debian boxes, if destination includes a file with same size and
name, rsync fails to see that they are not exactly the same file.
The situation originates from copying a file to a place which is
periodically rsynced onwards, and the rsync

When opening a file it takes up to half a minute!
Greetings,
in our small network with about 10 Clients I got a problem when opening
files or directories. If there were no actions between server and client
for about 2 minutes or more, the very first action (open file, change path,
etc) needs a long long time.
The problem occurs on some clients (win 2k/xp), but not on every client. I
tried a working smb configuration from home, but still no

BackupPC FAQ? Backups Apparently Working, but Web Interface Shows Nothing
BackuPC host is CentOS 6.2. Just one windows XP client. SMB backups
appear to be working; there is data in the backup directory tree,
including a subdir named for the client, in which I can manually view
individual files that have been backed up.
Now trying to use the web interface. Apache lets me log in, but the
status screen shows nothing. Hosts screen says:

Question about image storage and relative paths
I''m writing a website with a feature that hosts images that people upload.
Right now, relative paths works within on my Windows box. So
specifically, I''m able to call File.open on
"public/images/somefile.jpg" and Rails/WEBrick understands that the
path is relative to the home directory of the project. This means that
"public/images/somefile.jpg" ends up

what to type to what to obtain.
So, how could I escape ''*'', ''#'' & Co, to have an output like
<redcloth>
Type *word* to obtain <strong>word</strong>

Improper directory removal causes file system havoc (PR#11738)
Full_Name: Michael Bauer
Version: 2.7.0
OS: Solaris 10 (sparc)
Submission from: (NULL) (130.64.21.7)
When running 'make check' on a fresh R 2.7.0 build on Solaris 10 (sparc),
reg-tests-1.R fails consistently because the test directory /tmp/R<random>
cannot be deleted. The reason for the deletion failure is because the file
system thinks that the directory is still full, as its

Bug or strange behaviour or --output-prefix
Seems like what you really want is an --input-prefix parameter.
You might also like a --create-output-directories option.
In all cases except absolute paths, the input prefix must be assumed
to be the current working directory. Therefore, any relative paths in
input file names must be preserved on output to avoid collapsing
multiple source directories into a single output directory, with
